After playing through the first episode, I wish there were a neutral review option for this one. I really like the idea of this episode taking place years after the amazing ending of the first episode, with Hal still carrying the weight of his failure, but I feel like all of the things that made the latter half of the first episode great were not present in this one. First, the development of the connection between Hal and Chris/Eleanor. Despite there being a large emphasis of the beginning and the ending towards Chris, honestly I could not give a ♥♥♥♥ about her. She wasn't interesting in the first episode given that she wasn't a main character, and, from the readers perspective, all of a sudden she's the star of Hal's life, even if it was just the sense of duty to pay her back on his end. Really, it would have been better if there was some sort of flashback or continuation of the first episode where it shows Chris and Hal becoming closer. Chris also never does anything in this episode, she just talks to Hal, cries, reminds Hal of Hagana and his past failure, and is generally just useless in terms of moving the plot forward. As for Eleanor, I honestly liked her character from the…

A very good story, good worldbuilding that offers many insights on our own world, and great characters. The only part that could be better is the translation, I've noticed a few minor and medium mistakes in both spelling and structure, but nothing that diminishes too much from the experience.

This episode is definitely shorter than the first one. I tried to read a little more slowly, but somehow I still ended up with less playtime than the first game. I like how the author used real-life events as inspiration for the fictional ones, we all know which real-world energy company had a massive fraud scandal. That said, the ending still pisses me off. This guy did it again. He just can’t ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ end a game normally. I know this is the second part of a trilogy, but the ending is, in my opinion, even worse than the first game’s. All that buildup, and we don’t even get to see Enron- I mean, Avalon getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over. Still, the story itself is genuinely interesting, and I think it’s better than the first one and I’m still looking forward to reading the third part. I’m pretty sure that one is about the 2008 housing crisis. Surely they gives the game a proper ending in the third one right?

If you liked the first chapter, you will like this one as well. It definitely expands on the wider world of WEE, and Hal is a more likeable character this time around. It's still mostly setup for chapter 3, but I think it does a good job at setting up the climax. Let's hope it sticks the landing!
