World of Warships

nice relaxing game

There is way too much leveling up. It's not fun to play against ships that are two or three levels higher than you. It doesn't matter how good you are, the ships are too unevenly matched and it becomes a waste of time and an exercise in frustration.

highly recommend to new players, aiming system can be a learning curve but theres many players willing to help. overall one of my favorite games

World of Warships is a free-to-play game where you can take old-school warships into battle. It's not a hard-core simulator, which makes it more approachable. But if you're looking for a simulator, you might be disappointed. That said, the graphics are great. The physics are satisfying. The controls are polished. And the map design is very good. IMO this game is very well made. Since it's free-to-play, it does have micro-transactions. But it's not really pay-to-win. More like pay-to-skip. You can absolutely play it without spending any money. But be prepared to grind your eyeballs out. For a new player, the game doesn't offer much. The only game modes available are PVE matchmaking and PVP matchmaking. But at the lower tiers (1 thru 5), the PVP is full of bots. So ironically, the PVE has more human players than the PVP. You don't gain access to other game modes until you get a tier 6 ship. That's where the real fun starts... ranked PVP matches, PVE story missions, etc. But for a F2P player, getting to tier 6 can take awhile. This is where the "pay-to-skip" aspect comes in. Pay some money for a tier 6 ship, and you're good to go. Or you can settle in for the grind. I did the grind…

The game is not that bad, but it's bad enough to the point that you can just play any other warship games, such as Modern Warships. Same one made by Gaijin. That one who made War Thunder. And it has better graphics, better modern ships, and most of all better experience than this game. If you want to play this game, go ahead and play it, but make sure to know how to upgrade and get new ships, because it's kinda finicky. Overall, it's not worth it, especially the microtransactions in it. Not saying that Modern Warships doesn't have microtransactions, but at least you can buy more ships, submarines, aircraft carriers, and destroyers, and war battleships with money that you get from the game itself instead of spending money. And you have a higher chance to get a free ship, a good one, from the weekly, daily rewards.
