Writer's Block

I am surprised I haven't seen this concept done until now tbh. Pretty neat!

Fun casual game for fans of word puzzles and tetris, with a novel design idea behind it. It can get stale, though. Wish there were more challenges and variants--perhaps even daily competitive seeded runs--to give this a bit more replay value.

The soundtrack is great and the gameplay is solid. I'm not very good, but I keep trying everyday and I'm getting better

Great little game. I've wanted something like this for a long time, actually. Drop blocks, make words, chain combos! The different themes and music tracks, as well as the general vibe, are all lovely. Some criticisms, though. The demo is kind of the whole game! There is a mission mode but it's effectively a 10-stage tutorial. The main endless mode doesn't ramp up in speed or difficulty and there aren't any changes or gimmicks to the main gameplay mechanic to spice things up, despite the HUGE potential for it. What Writer's Block does NOT have, for example: A tile that needs to be used twice or multiple times to clear. A tile that swaps with its neighbor when placed. Tiles that sink to the first row of the board. A bomb tile. For goodness sake, a wildcard tile!!! Throwing some of those things in there would make things much more interesting than just chipping away at the board with three-letter word clears. I hope that a future title update adds more variety to the main gameplay loop and more missions. If not, that's still OK. I can see myself playing this one or two sessions at a time on my Steam Deck to go for leaderboard scores or on higher speeds to challenge myself. The main…

surprisingly fun

Its what I love, word puzzles. It is as advertised. Bit expensive for what it is, as others have pointed out. the link to add words does not work for me, the game did not recognize "stim" as a word. a few other words also were not recognized, but did not stand out nearly as much as that one. overall, decent to pass some time.
