Superman 64, but fast. That's about it... The game is extremely basic UE5 slop. It takes less than 2 hours to complete, not accounting for time improvements which don't feel very satisfying in my experience. It feels like an an asset flip, but allegedly it isn't, so at least in that regard I'm mildly impressed. Perhaps the only thing that sets this game apart is the boost system, and how tight it is to perfectly enter rings to gain boost. Yes, this game is pretty much exclusively for those who are looking to get the best score, and according to stats, it appears that the vast majority of people stop playing in the first few minutes. Lazy achievements. Running out of fuel explodes the character which looks ridiculous. They didn't even use the correct banner on the store page... It truly feels slapped together, and all-around janky in-game. At least the soundtrack is alright.

I wasnt expecting anything going into this game - here is what I got though - adrenaline pump - dizzy after 20 mins - dopamine hit - shocking screams a few times after i stuffed up turns - gosh its fast! Will I play it again - potentially. I will want my friends to come over during a party and give it a shot 1 at a time. Its kinda like one of those fun things you do to see who can beat the score.

It's okay. The totally merciless difficulty curve (they say blue rings cool your jet suit down but more realistically most of the time you miss just one and you're toast) is both a blessing and a curse. It's undoubtedly addictive and a rush when you FINALLY complete a course without dying. However, the landscape looks uninspiring and unless I misunderstand, all tracks are through the same bland, procedurally generated world over and around its landscape features. Well crafted and differing environments would go a long way to improving the experience as would NPC runners (it's all just solo time trial). Here's hoping you add it for XR2. For just over double the price you can get BallisticNG with a jillion times more game modes, racers, endless customisation and a huge amount of lovingly crafted tracks. Only for future racer addicts with some spare cash, this one.
