XenoHaven

Uhhh... XenoHaven just feels really jank. Like if someone tried to make a harvest moon/minecraft vibe game in RPG Maker. Everything feels very basic, and very janky. Nothing is explained, the translations aren't good, and often text will overflow the textboxes with no way to scroll. Projectiles go through walls, your hitbox is way bigger than your character, all the menus for your companions are poorly explained, and nothing really makes any intuitive sense (I harvest some plants with a pickaxe, others with an axe, I have to harvest my plants with a pickaxe.) Also immediately ran into a bug where my first companion just... ran off? he disappeared for like a week, and then just showed back up one day.

One of those games that isn't great and you doubt will ever get better. Has a similar vibe to Necesse with map generation but everything about this sounds like a good idea with poor execution. Let me put it this way. It isn't even worth the energy to explain what is wrong with it. Just don't.

Do not bother buying this till the devs fixes this issue... Their code is all still in chinese. If you need to FIX one of their broken parts of the game. Good luck. The file names are at least in english. I am currently hard locked on my tech tree now because my power went out and corrupted my map file. My character uses the world you cannot progress anymore. The only fix I can think of is to turn the steel_tech_unlocked from false to true. I get the feeling I will have to do that with the next tech tree as well, seeing as I am past what ever the key unlocking methods in the game are. I was able to save the world by rolling it back to an earlier version from yesterday. Just do not understand why my character and the world update for your tech trees are not syncing up. And yes, I have already tried a lot of things to see if it would trigger the steel tech tree to unlock again. I really do not want to restart my 11 hour world. Mind you I am having a BLAST with this game. Till this issue happened. Oh yea, achievements do not seem to want to unlock at all either. I just wanted to comment, the company or dev reached out to me in discord. They had me send my sav file to them.…

A gem in the ruff. A really addicting loop that's fun to play. I see great things coming from Early access. I just barely found copper and am getting the hang of things and upgrading my equipment. The game has nice interface, though the quest that list on the left, with steam deck, I cant figure out how to get rid of them till I complete them. there is probably a way to hide them. I just need to look. I love that the fruit trees respawn their fruit quickly to keep up with hunger and that you can plant items to quench thirst. Looking forward to Steam Deck controller support at some time in the future, but as mentioned I think I have all the controls needed, mapped. The game is very simple. I have not run into any issues such as crashes, or else. I did have the music stutter a bit, but that may be due to extended play and ye ole memory leak. this is what EA is for to iron such things out though. Great job on the game and I hope more people give it a try and start to play it more. It deserves more attention.

great game

Fun game - lots to explore and many types of technology to research. Lots of tiered gear to build. Bosses for each level which are manageable at normal difficulty level. Graphics are pixel ... but if that doesn't bother you it is a great game for the price.
