+ Pretty good combat + Good music + Runs well on my PC + Pretty interesting story - Pretty taxing on the Steam Deck, sometimes overwhelming the device6 found this helpful
This game has sick combat. Collecting different weapons from bosses like I'm mega man but with modern graphics and custom music is a blast. I'm looking forward to unlocking the second character to try out her moveset. Haven't beat the challenge tower yet but will be back to update when I finish it.4 found this helpful
What I found most captivating about Xenrai was the diverse array of biomes that my character had to navigate and explore. Each biome presented unique challenges that required me to adapt and strategize in order to survive. As I journeyed through the different environments on my world, I was also exposed to the rich and intricate culture of its inhabitants. I learned about the history, traditions, and beliefs of each species, adding an extra layer of depth to the gameplay experience. I felt like I was actually part of the game, exploring new worlds and fighting off dangerous creatures. The attention to detail in this game is truly incredible, and the storyline is engaging and captivating. Overall, Xenrai is a must-play game for anyone looking for an exciting, immersive, and thought-provoking sci-fi experience. From the breathtaking visuals to the engaging storyline and challenging gameplay, this game has it all.4 found this helpful
This game is a gem, the thing is polished to the nines! Great visuals, virtually bug-free, and simple buy fun, and satisfying combat! In other words, the trailer is not a lie, this is a real game, and not only is it fun, but the visuals and music really make this one stand out in a magical kind of way. To put it into something you might relate to, the levels and music, and simple game design really brings me back to the glory days of the PS1, but most of all to Ape Escape. The levels art style brings you from lush forests, oceanic arenas, sci-fi-styled buildings, and finally to fiery death valleys, featuring upbeat, sci-fi techno music that really has the nostalgic vibe from the sometimes forgotten gaming masterpiece, Ape Escape. I am shocked that this game did not blow up, this is the kind of fun combat hack and slash style I grew up on during the 360 days, and the levels and music really got that PS1 fun, imaginative and simple vibe, thank you to those who made this, thank you so much.4 found this helpful
A good start, but bare bones, feels early access. For example, levels are very barren, with nothing interesting about them, and enemies (so far) are the same model copy-pasted, with very basic attacks and animations. Combat (the main draw for games like this) is clearly inspired by Devil May Cry, and does a good job of emulating that style, just needs some more polish to feel more fluid, would be nice if more moves were available from the start. Not sure if it's worth the full price for most people, unless you're a fan of the genre and want to support devs making character/stylish action games.3 found this helpful
This game sucked my right in. I really like the combat system, it has a nice flow and it's just the right amount of challenging to keep you on your toes but still let you enjoy the mechanics of it. And the levels are like a puzzle, urging you to explore and figure it out. The story and the overall atmosphere is like this mix of sci-fi and nature elements. For all who really enjoys these type of rpg games with a cool story and a rewarding battle system, I'd definitely recommend this one.3 found this helpful
