About XIIZEAL

Veteran arcade developer Triangle Service brings us the classic shmup experience with XIIZEAL! Select your mode and prepare for fast and frantic action. There are many enemies, but the side shot allows you to attack even when you're surrounded! Defeat the bosses, dodge the bullets, and go for the high score!
Features:
- Highly detailed pixel graphics - legions of tanks, planes, and robots to blow up!
- Huge boss enemies with lots of parts to destroy! Pick them apart piece by piece to reduce their firepower!
- Practice the stages one at a time in Score Attack Mode or play all 8 stages in Arcade Mode, the choice is up to you!

XIIZEAL is a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up developed by TRIANGLE SERVICE and published on Steam by KOMODO, delivering a focused and uncompromising arcade experience that prioritizes precision, pattern recognition, and score-driven mastery. Rather than attempting to modernize the genre with excessive systems or spectacle, the game confidently embraces classic shmup fundamentals, presenting a design that feels deliberate, disciplined, and deeply rooted in arcade tradition. From the opening moments, it establishes a relentless pace that immediately challenges players to engage fully with its mechanics rather than easing them in gently. The core gameplay loop is straightforward but demanding. Players pilot a single ship through vertically scrolling stages filled with enemy formations, environmental hazards, and increasingly dense bullet patterns. Movement is crisp and responsive, making positioning and micro-adjustments the key to survival. While the basic act of shooting enemies is intuitive, the real challenge lies in managing the screen under pressure, reading attack patterns, and maintaining composure as the game escalates. Bombs provide brief moments of reprieve and offensive…1 found this helpful
Pretty fun SHMUP. the movement as attack mechanic is neat, encouraging a lot more close-range combat compared to some SHMUPs. I think the graphics are good, but sometimes it gets quite busy and it's hard to distinguish bullets from the background sometimes. I think the later levels get a bit busy as well. I'm able to get through about the first half with no deaths and actually getting most of the alternate, harder bosses, but the game really ramps up in the later half. It's still good, but for enthusiasts, or would-be enthusiasts moreso. Includes a vertical mode, which I like to have.
My first shoot em up I played so many years ago on the PS2 under the name of XII Stag The PC version is flawless and the game is so much nicer with a keyboard then the PS2 controller making the side attacks so much easier to do without drifting off as much Game runs flawless on the Steam Deck as well so no need to emulate the PS2 XII Stag version unless you really miss the title screen name change
An enjoyable Shmup with a basic scoring mechanic. Bullet density is a bit high for my skill on some of the later levels, but I'm still enjoying what I play of it.
Good and fun Shooter with some broken achievements that are not goining to get fixed any time soon. It's a bit older now but i can still recommend it if you get it with a deep discount. But with working achievements, this game would be a 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! / 10
