About XXX_CYBERRAT_XXX

XXX_CYBERRAT_XXX

XXX_CYBERRAT_XXX is your classic too-hard-to-actually-enjoy-it horror hacking game in the likes of Welcome To The Game, featuring a motel room, a computer, a hacker and a few dozen dark web pages for you to explore.

To complete the game, you must explore all 100 dark web pages and complete all three NSA hacking minigames.

Anxiety

As you explore The Dark Web, your anxiety increases. High anxiety causes your paranoid mind to experience more severe hallucinations. To relieve some of the stress and afford your medicine, you need to earn money - either by scamming people, managing a botnet, finding hidden links or beating hacking minigames. If left unmanaged, the monsters appearing in your hallucinations will kill you.

Hitmen

You are hunted by hitmen, sent by your former coworkers. You must utilize intelligence gathering websites you've found on The Dark Web to gather enough information on the hitmen to get rid of them before they get rid of you. Investigate your enemies by searching their phone number, online usernames, cryptocurrency addresses and other Personally identifiable information.

Roguelike

Every time you die, your whole progress is reset and you have to start over. A successful run takes around 90 minutes. Every death gives you detailed explanation and there are only minimal luck-based mechanics.

Upgrade

As you browse The Dark Web, you will gain experience. You can spend experience and money on your tools' upgrades, increasing their efficiency. It's up to you to prioritize which tool to upgrade.

Hardcore

This is a tough game and you will die many times. A combination of ever-increasing cost of your medicine, constant stream of hitmen trying to hunt you and terrifying hallucinations caused by your worsening mental state will put you under constant pressure and challenge your skills.

WTTG Inspired game, super difficult and innovative the biggest plus is that Adam had no part in it so I can leave a positive review! Awesome.

Peak hacking game in my opinion for those of you that enjoy stuff similar to Welcome to the Game and Simulacra. It definitely isn't nearly as hard nor rng based as Welcome to the Game, and once you know what you're doing it's relatively easy to figure out. There's a perfect balance between the horror/jumpscares and being able to actively browse on your computer, and there are a few challenging aspects such as the ddos mini games and doxxing the hitmen being sent after you. There is also an endless mode for those who want to farm and dox without having to worry about the story. The game runs smoothly as well, and in all my runs I have yet to encounter any massive glitches that prevent me from being able to progress or play. This is honestly one of my favorite dark web games out there.

This game actually might have gotten me to realize I have a phobia of eyes. I absolutely love this game but I cannot play it because the eyes that sometimes appear starting at the mid game just destroy me. Please could the developer just add the option to remove the eyes I'd rather deal with having to look around for the stalkers every so often than to not be able to play the game because it freaks me out too much.

Its a less edgy and difficult version of Welcome To The Game II but suffers from overall worse in quality and design for horror and gameplay The main loop of Doxxing assassins is rather fun but its constantly broken up by the badly designed Stalkers/Demons loop the way you deal with Stalkers checking your shoulder and maybe flicking the lights every couple minutes their a nice edition in making you jump and feel well done. But unfortunately after 3 in a row you have to keep the lights off to interact with the other side of the loop... Dear god the Demons are awful. When the lights are off Demons spawn and announce themselves with incredibly loud stock sound effect panting and you have to flick the lightswitch and your done no horror other than being loud and your never at threat of missing them and actually dying like with the stalkers. BUT god forbid you accidentally walk into one between the incredibly narrow space between the bed and lightswitch because your punishment is... spam the spacebar inhumanly fast (I just opted for a macro instead of destroying my keyboard) thats it. boring as hell. Theres also an anxiety meter you have to manage but its really just a scaling money…
