Year Unknown is a short "walking sim" with a branching narrative. It takes ~1 hour to complete.

Story
Explore The Library, a megastructure the size of the universe, filled with all of humanity's knowledge. To guide you are two Artificial Intelligences, built to process its massive collection of information.But something else is calling you - a distress call from the center of the universe. Gameplay
Explore brutalist landscapes, and find terminals to talk to two AI. Both have different thoughts and opinions, and might tell you different things. Fortunately, you have control: choose which AI to talk to, what to tell them or leave out, and ultimately, decide who you agree with.Accessibility

this short game explores a deep, unsettling question that everyone has at the backend of their mind. what I understood from it, is that the game explores two primal and unsettling fears: fear of ceasing to exist and fear of eternity. there are many beliefs on what might happen after the death or, in this case, [spoiler] heat death of universe. humanity found a way to stop it, or at least hinder it [/spoiler] . if you are religious and firmly believe in afterlife, the idea of eternity is still haunting, even if you earn to go to heaven, you will stay there for billions of years, trillions of years, quadrillions of years, bazillions of years, and numbers keep appearing and appearing until you find out numbers has no end. and if you are an atheist, simply ceasing to exist, no conclusion, meaning or anything to the long life you live being nothing immediately, that fear of death, nothing but darkness but in this case you can't even feel or understand the darkness. anyone ever remember the time BEFORE they are born? no. do you even try to think about it? try to remember it? what do you even supposed to feel about the time before you were conceived inside your mother's womb? the question…1 found this helpful

The game is not worth its cost unless you get it in a bundle, the entire game is very pretty as an architect I really appreciate what they have done, the megastructure collection bundle was very much worth it and this is definitely a nice short gem. You have a few options in the game I believe. Spoiler post completion: [spoiler] Not choosing BO is clearly an act of cruelty, reject eternal suffering for the sake of continued existence [/spoiler]
Even though theres not a lot of content i still really liked the game, the world it created was very accurate for how it felt. It made me care about both AIs and made me sad that i couldnt give them both what they wanted.
