TLDR: 5/10, poor controls and limited options but a cute and passable experience overall. Very pretty game with a standard but fun plot. Cannot rate it positively as the keyboard controls, which do not seem to be changeable, were horrible to get used to and made the platforming annoying. It may be a better experience with a controller but with the dialogue and cut scenes going by at a snail's pace I don't feel like giving it another chance.

This game had potential to be a decent platformer however there's 2 things that breaks this game: - Plenty of bugs. Leading to softlocks because of how the save system works, because the whole game is one persistent world more or less. So if you get to a savepoint and do something and die then anything prior to said death gets saved regardless and does not reset which can lead to plenty of softlocks. The first boss can lead to a softlock, I saw it slowly happen because you have 2 ways to kill it, but one of said options just bugged out and went away. But I quickly understood what would happen if it continued further so I just quickly killed it with the last option available. The second one which ended my run is when you get to the hub island which leads to everywhere else. The moment you save on said island and then teleport and happen to quit afterwards leads to a permanent softlock because the teleport items you use get stuck on the other side which you can no longer collect/visit because the save takes you back to the main hub. This could have been avoided by just having said items be a permanent addition, but I guess they tried to be fancy where it didn't matter and only made…

Very much an unsung classic in the action-adventure-puzzle-platformer category. I don't know anything about the history of this game's development but it feels like a game that was rushed out the door and then, after the first round of basic bug fixes, left to its own devices. Which is a shame because it's honestly great, even genius at times. To appreciate it you have to be able to tolerate some jankiness though. For example the game has a pretty neat physics system BUT in some spots those physics feel slightly broken. Then there's annoying things like unnecessarily slow swimming speed, three-quarters of dialogue being unskippable, sporadic glitches, etc., that make it feel like a game not fully actualized. But for all its flaws, it's completely playable, fun, and interesting. Level design is creative and fully utilizes the abilities you gain throughout. In general there's a good sense of direction and flow to the level designs, though it's possible to get lost while exploring Temples. Its a great, but confusing story, and you cant go wrong with a game where an added mechanic is not only that you can pet various good boys and girls, but a requirement to 100% the game. Well Played, Bitmap Galaxy. goes on sale frequently so please buy this game. especially if you enjoy time travel games that really dont care if science says if its right or not.

I guess platform games just aren't for me. I want to like the game but the game clearly disagrees with me
