In this epic quest, your mission is clear aid Yubu in his battle against the Reseller, a foe seeking to disrupt harmony in the shoeless society of Footaria. With your help, Yubu will navigate challenging platforms, uncover hidden secrets, and unleash his extraordinary shoe-based abilities.
Make Yubu's journey your own with customizable movesets and special moves. Equip different shoe enhancements to alter his abilities. Yubu: The Shoeventure is a short platform game with interesting mechanics when it comes to choosing skills (although I didn't understand how to acquire them at each purchase machine because when I thought I had the selected skill, another one would appear in my inventory), an atmosphere that is very representative of the genre but with abrupt and forced movements that require more than just a pair of sneakers to grasp in this little endeavor.44 found this helpful

"Yubu: The Shoeventure" is a 3D third person platformer with a twist, you customise the abilities you take into the game. I'm a little surprised it didn't do better, it does "work", although it's hardly a stellar gaming experience. It's important to note this is a genuinely made game, not an asset flip or a cash grab of any kind. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $6 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. That REALLY was a Shoeventure!
It's like it's still in beta. Totally not worth the time.
