About Aby's Playground
Aby's Playground is a playground where Aby tries things.
You can roam the open world. There are six different bioms. You can explore all bioms and meanwhile you can find different monuments, statues and scapes. Every bioms has its own monsters. Every monster has different power. Maybe you can find bosses if you lucky. There are various weapons all over the map. You can find a sword stucked in a stone, under a flying rock, on the head of a dead giant turtle. You can use many various weapons. You can increase the speed, health, stamina of your character or unlock new spells with the points you earn by killing monsters. Don't forget, more dangerous monster means more points.

I admire the ambition of this indie developer to try and make a big open world sandbox game as their first title on Steam, however this feels like it's less than 10% complete. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_3NWGsFE08 It needs a LOT of work for sure... Some of the things that need a lot of work and love: 1) The combat is zany and ridiculously silly. Maybe a lock-on to the target button could help here.. I don't know. 2) The mushrooms and plants are seen sticking up in the air and all need to be touching the ground. 3) The world needs much more vegetation and trees to make it feel less like an "empty and desolate" game. 4) When you swing your sword, it leaves a cool white motion effect, but that effect stays and doesn't dissolve like it should. 5) Enemies should drop loot or coins or something to make them feel more gratifying to kill. 6) The starting vending machine used to level up skills needs to be easily seen from afar. Maybe a beam of light from the vendor going far up into the sky could help with this? 7) The running animation needs tweaked so you don't look like a super constipated cyborg when you run. 8) Towns or villages should probably be made with NPCs, perhaps a…16 found this helpful
Warning: Asset Flip! Aby's Playground is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took some art assets (AI slop made with Midjourney, at least they admit that part) and some stolen Unity assets and dumpted them onto a basic third person brawler template with little to no other content. There's nothing to do in this asset flip but wander around and brawl against other stolen assets. This kind of thing is just garbage and a great exampl…2 found this helpful
To start, for the price, it's worth trying. Not going to sugar coat it, the games really bad, But the idea, although vague seems extremely fun. Here's a list of things that I think will make the beginning experience a lot more enjoyable as well as making the future development a bit more efficient for the creator. Few QOL updates (Quality of life- Should be #1 priority and not too costly on time) -allow movement during a jump -Jump is listed as dodge under key binding settings, so adding a dodge would be nice. -Make base character speed about half the current speed makes small adjustments a hassle and add a sprint to keep the speed when needed -Allow a back walk (Ex. can't move backwards unless your character is facing that direction) -fix the resolution settings (once you change it, you have to reset the game to stay with the default which is better the 800x600 option available) -Increase the render distance if the map is going to stay as large as it is -Remove the "Trade terminal" Having a menu to level up would be better unless more functions are going to be added to it -Add indication for the players position on the map -Fix health bars on enemies by…1 found this helpful
