About Yumeutsutsu Re:Master

"Save your sister"

Country girl Ai Otori joins the game company where her sister works. There her story of love, mystery, and game-making begins.

Yumeutsutsu Re:Master is a girls-love adventure game set in a small japanese game studio.

The story is set in the town of Koenji, not far from the imperial capital of Tokyo, where a small game studio called Eureka Soft has set up shop.

The heroine Ai, a country girl, joins her sister Kokoro who works there, after receiving a mysterious email from the studio head.

There she meets the quirky all-girl (and a dog) cast: the big sisterly head of the studio, her actual sister who is giving her the cold shoulder, the maid/voice talent, the "tiny dinosaur" scenario writer, the uniformed artist, and Banako, the dog and vice-president. Ai starts learning about game making as she slowly pieces together the mysteries of her colleagues.

Ai's world will expand bit by bit, as the game production begins.

I was gifted this when it was on a huge discount. This game was well done, but I have mixed feelings. I loved two of the routes, and hated two of them. I'm a big fan of slice-of-life, and I expected this to be very slice-of-life. But two of the endings are wildly out of place. I definitely would have preferred if all routes remained slice-of-life and realistic. Other than personal taste, the only problems I had with the game were:

Cannot save on decision screens.
Minor language issues in the English version. Occasional typos and missing words, but overall it's easy to follow. Unfortunately sometimes a little bit too much is missing, or sometimes (very rarely) something is added which doesn't fit with the rest.
It's a little repetitive at times, saying the same thing two or three times. It's possible that the sentences have slightly different nuances in the original language, which didn't carry over to English.
More detailed review: Common Route:

The first 3 chapters are the common route.
Slice of life story about a newbie joining a game development company & making a visual novel.
I loved it.
Took me about …

Another incredible game from Kodago studio, specifically from Shimarisu-san Team. They're the ones behind the Nurse Love games. Once again, this game is a great yuri story with four routes: a slacking scenario writer, a seemingly ditzy cosplay maid, an artist from not-Greece, and the main character's sister. I don't really want to say a lot, besides that not only do you get a 'you failed' route... but each of the four has a route for their happy end, and the misery end, which goes into dark territory. Is this something to get for a focus on the lewd? No. Does it do lewd well when it comes up? Yes, but this is a very fade-to-black kind of game. But the writing? INCREDIBLE. Play this.

really nice i would wait for a price drop as, as good as it is its not worth the almost £60 price that they are asking for. But if you do see it on the price drop worth getting if you are a Visual Novel collector!

Pure yuri (no men exist) with some really dark endings.

I would not recommend this at full price. I got it at 75% off, and I'm happy with what I got for that price. I can't say this is a visual novel I'll remember for years to come, but it was good enough. The art, voice acting and writer are all nice and professional. The story is quite low-stakes and soft, while veering into darker territory every so often. There's a notable difference in length and pacing between character routes. All in all, it was decent.
