Yuppie Psycho: Executive Edition

Yuppie Psycho is a pixelated puzzle/rpg horror game. It's a fun unique take on an underappreciated genre. Pros: -Great story rich game with multiple endings. -Fun goofy characters to contrast the unsettling horror abound. -Some fun creative boss fights. -A pretty reasonable difficulty level. You get enough items that you have no issues if you play it correctly, but if you mindless run through you will be running low on resources. Cons: -This is one of those look up the walkthrough games - because otherwise you will miss necessary items that only appear during certain time windows. You can still beat the game, but you won't get the best endings. -Alot of stuff appears that only makes sense if you unlock both main routes. Some stuff still doesn't make sense after everything, beyond "its a spooky wacky haunted building" Overall its a cool unique game, and I love how they brought the horror aspect to the typical goofy pixel rpg. Not without it's flaws, but definitely worth a playthrough for anyone who loves both of those genres. Rating: 8/10

I loved my time with Yuppie Psycho. Its one of those games that you can feel the passion coming off of. The incredibly strange and borderline Lynchian characters, the music, the way that cutscenes are animated; it all comes together to create a unique experience not unlike a SWERY game at times (albeit with a much more solid foundation). I think this one is going to stick with me for a while. There is so much more depth to Yuppie Psycho than I assumed before going into it.

this game means a lot to me and will forever be my favorite game ever. ive engaged with it for over a year now and consistently find myself coming back to play it over and over again. i can understand that its not everyones cup of tea but for me it is genuinely the perfect game. the gameplay is easy to wrap your head around and adjust to, with puzzles thatre complex enough that you have to think, but not too convoluted that i ever felt lost or like the game was against me. the thing that i absolutely love, however, is the story. i am obsessed with the way that yuppie psycho presents you characters that you can get attached to so easily and feel so human, even if they arent present for long. i dont think theres a character in this game that i found myself thinking: "hm. i dont think they fit/make sense to be here" which is shocking considering the size of the cast. the story itself is rather surreal and odd and in a way there are a lot of loose ends that arent tied up, but all of them(in my opinion), enhance the game as it gives you room to think and fill them in with your own interpretation. its phenomenal to me! dont even get me started on the art, LOL. im an artist myself and …

My dear Yuppie Psycho: I was really surprised by how good the writing of this game is; I laughed a lot, and you really can't predict in which direction the narrative will go next. The game Masterful portrays an office satire (or not so much) where people will do anything to climb the corporate ladder. An amazing plot that you will slowly discover, nice puzzles, very fun side characters, great pixel art, good horror, and amazing sound design put the bar in a very high spot, but, sadly, it's not all good things, and the game certainly has its flaws. The save system is absolute trash; combined with some very infuriating fights/enemies, it really managed to get me tilted quite a few times. I do believe that frustration and difficulty are also part of the experience in some games. I absolutely hated the frog guy, and a big part of that hate was because he made lots of rooms more difficult, and his unskipable cutscenes after dying were salt on my wounds. But having to re do a whole segment that took me 20 minutes multiple times because there are no more checkpoints in the way feels totally pointless and just puts me all the time in a paranoid state, watching out for my HP instead …

fun and varied gameplay with challenging puzzles. interesting characters, story and ending branches. Nice cutscenes. Good game (though its unfortunately easy to accidentally get locked out of acheivements)
