About Mad Father

✦ AI summary

Play as young Aya Drevis to uncover twisted secrets hidden in your family's nightmarish mansion, solving puzzles and combat encounters with gruesome weapons like chainsaws and eyeball bottles. This remake completely reimagines the classic with upgraded graphics, new scenes, and a sinister Blood Mode that reshapes the entire story on a second playthrough.

In this horror adventure game, play as 11-year-old girl Aya Drevis and uncover the secrets of a bizarre incident that befalls the Drevis residence, where maniacal experiments are conducted night after night.
To arrive at the truth, you'll need to make use of chainsaws, knives, hammers, even bottles of eyeballs to explore every inch of the terrifyingly mad mansion.
This is a remade version of the original Mad Father. In addition to updates such as a total revamping of the in-game graphics, this remake adds brand new scenes and Blood Mode: a new second playthrough which alters the story.

This game, to start, is absolutely garbage. The art is mid, the story is the worst thing I think I've ever seen written in my life, and the puzzles are the most god awful bland experiences you will ever have. However, this game is also so cheesy, so unforgivably stupid, that I was laughing my ass off almost the entire time I was playing it. There are some BEAUTIFUL one liners such as "
Magic Water, a new product of my company
." Expect obtuse hints (THAT ARE TELLING YOU THINGS THAT ARE LITERALLY ON THE SCREEN), bad character development (if they even had good writing in the first place), and absolutely no effective horror. Genuinely this game is REALLY bad. I cannot recommend it enough. *chef's kiss*

I yearned for another game like IB and this served it justice. The game carried the same mechanics as IB, giving the 8-bit psychological horror feel IB did but also carrying it's own original story. You're a girl trying to save your twisted father who's deranged yet you still carry on through-out the game not bothered by that fact and only yearning to find out the truth and to save him. I'll say the story is alright, the puzzles carry the game mostly in my own opinion especially since you have to go back and forth through-out the mansion to find certain things for certain tasks. I personally really enjoy the certain ghost cut scenes as I love to admire the art work especially horror themed stuff. I would 100% suggest this indie game if you're interested in something quick but not boring. I did finish this in one night with my partner but the price is fair for the amount of hours I spent in this game being only 4. YOU DO also have a chance for certain other endings which makes it even way more worth the money, adding a tell-tale feel to the game so if you're a person that likes a game where you can have different out-comes I 100% suggest this to you.
