This game is a great sequel, It picks up right where the first one left off and expands the universe a bit more without s**tting all over what made the original special on top of that expands the absolute f**k out of this weird universe They did ditch the linear level design for a more open world RPG, which might filter some peasants, but the core unga bunga bare knuckle fights/FPS hybrid with that signature grotesque alien vibe are still completely intact. They just expanded the gameplay, more weapons, more weird s**t to do, better exploration. It actually feels like they took everything that worked and just made it bigger and weirder is essentially the same, just expanded so it doesn't feel like a cash grab Apparently it has online co-op too, but since I’m a friendless loser, I just solo'd the entire campaign and it was still an absolute blast. No complaints If you liked the first one and its wtf am I looking at vibe, this is basically obligatory, they didn’t f**k it up ( They cooked) unlike modern AAA slop that completely disrespects their prequels 8/10 Even more grotesque, would punch more bird masked freaks again

Just didn't click with me in comparison to the first game. I like the ambition here with making a sequel, but I don't think many, if any of the additions are any good. Most of the problems here stem from attempting to expand on being able to chain combos and make the combat flow better, which leads to a bigger problem of introducing the most damaging, versatile and simple combo from the tutorial. They talk about a variety of defensive options, but really it's a block/parry and a dodge which you shouldn't ever really have to use either due to the quantity of enemies, or just being able to walk around any single enemy and avoid them very easily. I felt while the first one was repetitive with the combat, it still had a flow and a pick and choose mentality to how you'd approach fights prioritizing specific attacks since you can't fit in the heavier ones, maybe using special weapons on alternate enemies. Here you can kinda just walk away, hope one is closer to you after training them like it's cod zombies, then use your one combo to knock them to the ground and kick them until everyone else shows up, maybe being able to toss them into everyone by grabbing. It ultimately makes the gam…

I'm torn here. There's certainly a lot to like in this game. I enjoy the strange world, strange characters, and the strange notions they have, but my this interface is so rough and combat so disorienting. Fighting hand-to-hand should be this game's bread and butter, but I found myself wishing to run away and skip the whole thing. This is a brawling first-person game, it's what is known for. You'll fight a lot, and if you're lucky, you can use weapons to get rid of a few enemies before they break or ammo runs out (And how happy I am when it's enough for all of them). Most of the time, you have to punch your way out, often against multiple enemies, and it isn't easy juggling between them, since I don't think they designed the gameplay for that approach. I'm pretty sure this is a duel-style fighting game "patched" to be a beat 'em up, and it shows.
