ZomB: Battlegrounds is one of those older battle royale games that I found quite interesting because it feels much smaller and simpler than the big games that popularized the genre. I jump out of a plane, choose where I want to land and then start searching for weapons, ammunition and supplies while trying to survive. The basic objective is very familiar, but I actually enjoyed the stripped down approach. There is not a huge amount of progression getting in the way, so I can simply start a match and focus on surviving. The scavenging works well for the type of game this is. I have to search buildings and different areas for equipment before getting into fights, and finding a better weapon can make a big difference when I am caught in an encounter. There is a mixture of ranged and melee weapons, which gives me some choice in how I approach situations. I liked the risk and reward feeling of moving into an area because I might find something useful, but I am also making myself easier to find if another enemy is nearby. The shrinking electric storm is another important part of the matches. I cannot stay in one safe area forever because the storm keeps closing in and eventually kills …
