About Zombaliens

Non-linear hand crafted levels full of interactivity, choose your path, break stuff, play with lights, find secrets...

Over 15 different weapons, including classic human weapons like a shotgun, Mac-10, rocket launcher and lightning gun as well as crazier alien weapons such as the Swarm Shooter shooting homing bees, the Spore Launcher which can lauch sentient bombs or the Belittling Eye...

Over 10 enemies species, including zombies, alien soldiers and insects and more with a variety of behaviours, such as taking cover, flying, dodging, walking on walls, smelling you...

The difficulty determines the number of enemies, objectives and the abilities the AI will use. The game plays noticeably different between easiest and hardest difficulty.

Several unique bosses, from a dinosaur charging you with a gatling to a cat and mouse game with an alien mastermind.

Stealth. Enemies giving you a hard time? Hide in darkness and they won't see you coming.

the fact that this game (counting from the itch version) has been out for four years and only has eight reviews is criminal. sure, it looks rough, but who gives a ♥♥♥♥ when it plays this good. somehow finds the perfect middle ground between duke nukem 3D and thief/deus ex. delivers on every front when it says its imsim meets retro fps. hardcore, immersive, brilliant level design, and generally just a wonderful time.

Zombaliens is a criminally underrated Immersive Sim/Boomer Shooter. The art style feels like a early 2000s adult swim cartoon mixed in with ps1/ps2 style graphics. This game feels like Deus Ex/Thief mixed with Left 4 Dead and it's great. The game play consists of you saving humans and carefully going through each level dispatching of any enemy threats in your way. The weapons feel pretty great, guns are punchy and have satisfying sounds. The stealth mechanics are pretty well implemented as well, though I feel as if the security cameras are kinda a bit finicky/stingy. Otherwise it's a very good experience. Definitely hope this game gets finished one day as even with two episodes i'd still recommend this in a heart beat. Don't sleep on this gem.

pretty fun game with great maps. enemies can be a little on the annoying side though. just don't go in expecting quake gameplay or something. you die in like 2 straight up seconds(normal difficulty), and there are turrets everywhere + homing projectiles.the AI also can peek in and out of cover. so I almost had to play it like a stealth tactical boomshoot

This game is actually... Really freakin' good. It looks like a mess, like most of the models looks like a child's first model on some 3rd party modeling program, but GOT-DANG does it feel good to play. The mots excitement from the game comes from the alien AI and the strategic methods you have to entail in order to get through the levels. It's part Imm-Sim (Immersive Sim, as the description says), and you can take any method into your encounters with the zombies and aliens you have to fight. There are a LOT of guns to play with, all having different uses and strategies to use them with. The pistol is your basic, for example, good for anything but not the best anywhere, and then your better guns give you more firepower, like the Mac and the Shotgun, but then you get the weird experimental weapons, like the alien guns and the futuristic guns like the Guass Launcher and the Electric gun. All of the guns have certain utilities and do certain damage numbers to the environment, specifically doors. Some doors are locked tight without the key, but you can just blow them open with your shotgun, or if it's reinforced, your launcher. Some doors are even MORE enforced and you need to find ot…

A very fun game. The graphics and optimization leave much to be desired, but the gameplay is very polished. It's essentially an immersive sim in the format of a classic shooter (like Duke Nukem 3D). There's no open world or revisiting old locations, and there's no RPG-style character progression as is common in the genre. However, there are incredibly many ways to complete the same level, and interesting interactions with the environment and enemies.
