RED: Lucid Nightmare or RED: The Lucid Nightmare (it has two different titles in the store and the library) is a mad janky game about nightmares involving little kids "running" around with knives and pooping out keys. I originally played it at release, gave up halfway, then figured I'd give it another shot after seeing it receive a few updates. Did it fix any of the problems I experienced during my first playthrough? Not at all! In fact, it probably made things even worse... So, first up, this game is maybe an hour long depending on how lost you become in the nightmare's maze, or how long it takes your crippled ass to figure out where to go in your own house during the day. There's an investigation into some murder conspiracy during the waking moments, which is super tedious, and come sleep time the drug-fuelled nightmares have you running in circles trying to evade a little Jigsaw looking freak of a girl and trying to startle a little boy to drop his keys. The gameplay loop is basically go from point A to B and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥' I don't know because the game is so inconsistent with its expectations and r…
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/7tnDB_3l2bA For some reason, this game has 17 positive reviews versus only 1 negative review. Well, make that 2 negative reviews now. This is a terrible VR game that somehow got more than a handful of "people" to rate this positively. I honestly believe there's fake reviews all over Steam now. You should be following my Steam Curator group to avoid that: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Oculus_WMR This isn't even close to being a good game. This is a horror game. You're mostly object-hunting, whether in the dark at nighttime or in the light during the daytime. You're mostly looking for keys to open doors or pulling levers to open up a new section. Meanwhile, you're being chased by one of the monsters or you're chasing a monster trying to sneak behind it to scare it into giving you a key (that is not a joke). There is also traps in the dark. You have a flashlight that you can use to stop the monsters in their tracks or illuminate the way. However, the charge on that flashlight doesn't last for long so you're also looking for batteries. You'll hear all kinds of spooky things and ther…

I watch youtubers scream like little girls at horror games & I think "what is wrong with you?" This game actually made me jump. The art is creepy, beautiful & unique; That mask design is brilliance! https://youtu.be/f9F7iIAceXg?t=381

Originally planned on completing this game in one sitting, but its so boring and not worth the three hours it takes to complete it. Wish I could get back my time back from playing this.

Red is an interesting game. Fantastic environmental feel, but I found that many times i tried to continue the story, there was always a glitch to stop my progression and no clear indication on where to go, which I didn't mind cause it added to the terror. But the little girl chasing after you with the knife, and then you always having to look at her became a bit tedious. But honestly the work put into the world, and jump scares and characters was worth it. Remember this is my experience with the game. I may have not liked certain things, but it doesn't mean you won't enjoy it.
