About Nightmare
Nightmare is a single player survival-horror game where you find yourself in a nightmare. To leave it you will need to explore the enviroment, fight ghosts, collect and create items necessary to survive and reach the main goal - sanity growth.

- Addictive gameplay
Your main goal is awakening. Search for items that can be combined into the light sources to increase your sanity, but don't relax, by carefully examining the enviroment you will also find items that can help you to protect yourself, because there is someone near you who wants you to stay in this nightmare forever. Each game lasts about 30 minutes of real time.

- Atmosphere
Realistic graphics and high-quality 3D sounds will keep you in stress all the time and allow you to dive into the action as much as possible.
- Increasing difficulty
As you progress through the game, the unpredictable AI will change tactics: becoming more aggressive, summoning helpers. By other words, leaving this nightmare will not be easy.
- Replayability
Each next game will be different from the previous one: all the items you found may no longer be in their usual place next time.
You may no longer face the enemy you have already faced, but face a new one. During the gameplay, you can also encounter random activities, whether to participate in them or not is up to you, because they can either bring you closer to the final goal or push you back from it.

- Player progress
Depending on your actions and activity in the game, you will earn experience and Light Tokens that can be spent on perks. Who knows, perhaps they will influence the outcome of your nightmare.
- Game modes
Nightmare is a rather difficult game. If you don't think so, try the "Expert Mode", which reworks the core mechanic and logic, making reaching the main goal a real challenge of reflexes, speed and nerves.

Nightmare, by DITMGames, is, at this point, in Early Access. I would dare to say, VEA, Very Early Access. The premise of the game is much like Phantasmagoria, or any other PVE horror out there, but without the PVE; you are trapped in a nightmare and you have to wake up, or forever be entrapped in it, collect this, build that, and pray that the enemy AI won't constantly harass you, will slowly, painfully slowly, you try to stay in the light long enough to wake up. At the moment the game will tell you that a session takes 15-30 minutes, in normal mode. It took me nearly one hour, until I simply understood that I couldn't care less about it. It's infuriating and frustrating, especially since the AI seems to show up whenever it feels like, with an army of ghost friends. Your character runs fine up until the moment where it's actually needed, which is another common trend in horror games. I cannot recommend it at this stage, but, who knows, a few more updates will probably make it more manageable. Or maybe not. This is actually a pretty decent start, the gameplay was fun and somewhat different to other games. Keep working hard on this dev because I think it could be something pretty bloody good in the future. Pros: + Decent gameplay that can easily be worked on + Good map + Decent looking monsters + Lots of items to be consistently found + Simple story (could be worked on) + Great tutorial Cons: - It takes ages to charge the light meter though I did find that you can stack it - AI is kinda dumb but it also does need to loose you at some point - Leveling system should have a lot more to it then just the tokens - The demon breathing shouldn't be heard on different floors Steam Curator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/10995314-Szamer%2527s-Collection/ Full Playthrough & Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaDxLqzj0ec3 found this helpful
I thought it looked neat but in the end, I just couldn't find much joy in it. Pros: -Neat Concept - Good Tutorial - A lot of items Cons: It drags on SO long and feels grindy (Which I never thought I'd say about a horror game) The AI is not that intelligent The initial thrills kinda run out dast I think if it was adjusted to be a bit faster paced it may be more fun but right now I can only give it 1/5 lightbulbs.1 found this helpful
I bought this game about a week ago and just installed it today on my steam deck. The game runs great on the deck with some minor in game graphical settings. My only problem with this game so far is that there's no stamina meter for the player to see how much stamina they have and it seems like you run out of juice fairly quickly. I hope that the dev fixes this as it would make the game play so much better. other than minor issue, i love the concept of the game and i am having a lot of fun with it. The game is currently listed as unknown for Steam Deck Playability but should be changed to Verified as the game runs great with minor in game graphical setting changes.
Fun little horror experience! This game definitely keeps you on your toes as you strive to reach your goal, and it offers a satisfying level of challenge. It's refreshing to see a developer who actively welcomes feedback and bug reports—a great sign for a newer game.
vary boring game.
