A fun little old school VR game. Definitely worth playing since it's free. The controls are a bit janky on Meta Quest 3, but they were likely designed for other controllers like Vive. I finished the game without problems, so the weird controls won't stop you just be aware of some weird interactions (like clicking the stick to select you save slot). Overall it's not really scary besides one or two sequences, but it's a fun experience all the same. One thing I will mention is that I recommend finishing the game in one sitting if you can (it's only like 1-2 hours). There's a save system, but the prompt that tells you what an item is ("Master Bedroom Key") only activates when you first pick up the item. This means that if you were to not play for a month you could come back to an inventory full of keys and not know where to go or where to use them, forcing you to wander around trying them on every door. If you listen to the prompts about what the keys are for, it's a smooth experience, but if you don't listen or forget, it can be rough. As far as I know, there's no way to reexamine a key after picking it up to get the hint again, so that definitely is a flaw, though a minor one for a s…

Well DreamBack VR sets up an atmospheric, I wouldn't say horror experience with ok graphics . The controls are clunky, frustrating mechanics, and a slow, disjointed narrative make the journey more tedious than terrifying. Jump scares lose their punch, and the immersion often breaks due to awkward interactions. That said, the game does nail its haunted mansion aesthetic, and if you have the patience, there are some genuinely eerie moments worth experiencing. But for most, this dream is one best left forgotten. 4.5/10 🌙👁️
