Bought this yesterday and have been playing non-stop. It's a relaxing dice-roller once you get the hang of it. There are some tactics and decision making but really it's RNG gambling so it's fun. The art style/aesthetic is instantly one of my favorites. The whole design of the interface and the rooms, cut scenes, and enemies is very good and what got me interested in trying the demo. As to the demo, it's a stripped down one that lets you sample combat, the full game has more to it so keep that in mind. It's priced right, I believe, as you can have many playthroughs unlocking classes and artifacts and working a nice sized achievements set. The rogues gallery of enemies is larger than I would have thought for the size of the game and you will continue to encounter new enemies after you think you've seen them all. As to the bugs, there are still some but what I will tell you is that the game is more enjoyable than the bugs are discouraging so I will keep playing until 100%.

Oh boy. Where to start. Let's start with what the game is on paper. So, The Fortress. It's a rougelike taking obvious inspiration from classic dark fantasy. You pick a class (Warrior, Wizard, Thief), and then you try to make your way to a Lich so you can kill him and free the land from evil. Pretty simple premise. There's cutscenes, but all they really do is elaborate on the area's boss, and a minor twist near the end with the Lich's identity, but otherwise that's all your getting for story. Presentation wise, this game is pretty good. Evocative art, excellent voice work, and some banging tunes. Could use some polish here and there; you get a cutscene after killing a boss, briefly see the combat window, then see the next cutscene which introduces the next area when those should really just be on continuous cutscene. Also kind of sucks that they use one specific class model for each cutscene, so your choice of class isn't reflected. But those are tiny problems. Where we get into the big, massive problems is in the gameplay. So, the game is actually really easy to explain. You enter a room. There are enemies in there, with dots of 3 colors: Red, Blue, and Green. You have one dice …

I tried the demo and liked the concept a lot! I went against the negative reviews because I figured the downsides would be alright because the price was fair for a fun little game with suprisingly engaging cutscenes and voiceacting in the full game. However, the game does have GAME BREAKING crashes that seem to be connected to the latest content update. Your whole run is bugged and you need to restart a run to make the game even work again. Sucks! But overall, I DO enjoy this game despite the unbalanced RNG. I wish there was a bit more to items and equipables that do a bit *more* than just +1 or +2 boosts but seeing as the newest content update wasn't too long ago perhaps there will be more updates like that! IF YOU DON'T MIND A SMALL GAME WHILE JUST KILLING TIME, then yes, I would recommend it. For anyone looking for a game to really get into the nitty-gritty and getting good at: Wait until the game is stable. IF you get really irked at unbalanced RNG and simplistic gameplay: Don't get it lol

Not a bad game.... until you the games starts bugging out. Have played multiple play throughs where weird ♥♥♥♥ happens to my gear. First time nearing the end of the game and all of my gear stops working and im basically playing naked... totally ridiculous.
