I have played Police Simulator: Patrol Officers since Early Access, starting December 27, 2021. I have over 250 hours in the game and purchased every DLC released. I mention that because I do not want this dismissed as someone who played briefly and refunded. I was exactly the kind of long term player a developer should want to keep. I supported the game early, believed in the vision, bought every add on, and kept giving it chances because I genuinely wanted it to succeed. The frustrating part is that there is a genuinely great game buried underneath everything. When Police Simulator works, it is fun. The progression from parking enforcement to traffic stops, accident investigations, wanted suspects, and emergency callouts is fantastic. The core idea is strong. The execution never caught up. Traffic and AI have been major problems throughout the game’s entire lifespan. Accident scenes often turn into chaos. I would block traffic correctly, manage the scene, call a tow truck, and then watch the tow truck get stuck in the traffic jam caused by the accident it was supposed to clear. First of all, I only enjoyed this game for how it simulates players as honorable, integral law enforcement officers with professional conduct. But that wouldn't be so sustainable if the game itself is so abysmally buggy and instable. In fact, the overall negatives I'm listing here far outweighs the the overall positives. - The NPC A.I., especially when they're driving, is overall abysmal. Mainly, I experienced several times where, instead of avoiding, they would deliberately collude into my patrol vehicles as I quickly try to pass them when I'm actively responding to the emergency callouts with my vehicles' sirens blaring and I, myself get blamed and penalized for their ridiculous, sudden movements. Secondly, requesting emergency vehicles such as tow trucks and ambulances are 50/50 at best. At first, they would behave as normal, but later they either not spawn or drive forward and not perform their tasks even when the path is clear for them. I've seen cases where NPCs, especially arrestees, witnesses and wanted criminals, suddenly disappear within their crime scenes.
