Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim™

Dead by Daylight really looked at its community and said, “You know what these people need? The ability to date the killers.” And unfortunately… they were correct. Hooked on You is absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way. One minute I’m enjoying a cute little tropical vacation, and the next I’m genuinely considering which murderous psychopath I would like to romance. Like… how did we get here??? The art style is adorable, the dialogue is hilarious and I love that the game completely understands how unserious the concept is. There were so many moments where I just sat there staring at my screen like, “There is NO WAY they actually wrote that.” And yet somehow I became invested. Am I making dialogue choices based on which killer I think will like me? Yes. Am I trying to impress someone who has canonically murdered an unreasonable number of people? Also yes. Do I have regrets? Absolutely not. It’s especially fun if you already play Dead by Daylight because seeing these characters thrown into a goofy dating sim is something I never knew I needed. Would completely recommend to anyone who likes DbD and also games in this (dating sim) genre. The little tidbits of lore about the killers were intriguing. I went into this experience "all in" for Spirit but ended up surprisingly charmed by the other 3 killers, especially Huntress. Anyway, I really do hope one day they consider Hooked On You Too. It would be a day 1 purchase for me for sure. But as a sometimes overly dedicated achievement hunter, I definitely have to say: my favorite thing about this game is that it did not outlive its welcome in reaching 100%. That's one of my most important criteria.
