1 Day Later: Escape Zombie Hospital

This is a mobile port of an android game. The quality is pretty low, about what you might expect from a basic unity tutorial. The game play amounts to mostly waiting for zombies to walk away before you grab a key and try to unlock a door on the other side of the room. On mobile this is a free game with microtransactions, on Steam it's $5; way over priced for what's here. I could go into detail, but of particular note is the poor balance. At first the game is just stupid easy, wait for a zombie to walk away and proceed. But once the game starts to expect you to fight, you need weapons and those need to be purchased. In the steam version you don't seem to get enough coins to do very much. In the android version you're expected to buy the weapons with real money. Maybe this wouldn't be a bad game for free and if that's what you're looking for go ahead and check it out on Android for mobile, but I can't recommend the Steam version at more than fifty cents. Since the game features zombies killing innocent hospital workers, it would have made sense if they went with the dreadful horror theme (Silent hill, the evil within or outlast) to make the game atmosphere more alluring. Ok little puzzle game to kill time on. Very simple gameplay so you can just start play and learn easy what to do. But there is some levels that will give you challenge too so it is not too easy game. There is also bit of story too and it is ok too. Graphics is ok and sound is fine too.

The graphics and UI are, to be frank, horrendous, and the sound design is all but non-existent. However, the gameplay mechanics are the saving grace of this title. More of a stealth puzzle game than anything else, the objective is to avoid the zombies and reach the exit - simple enough, but the variety and layering of additional mechanics keeps this interesting throughout the 100+ levels. Combat is to be avoided as you will lose the majority of fights. If you keep this in mind, and can tolerate poor graphics, you'll probably have an okay time here - but it's difficult to recommend it. I am going to give this game a "Recommended" rating, but not for the Steam version. This rating is instead for the Google Play version because it is free to play, with optional microtransactions.
