About Portal 2

✦ AI summary

Use portals to solve increasingly complex physics puzzles across Aperture Science Labs while reuniting with the darkly hilarious AI GLaDOS in an expansive single-player campaign, then challenge a friend in a separate co-op mode that demands you think together, not just act together. Portal 2 expands the original's award-winning formula with innovative puzzle mechanics, a captivating story, and memorable characters that make it a massive sequel worthy of its predecessor's legacy.

Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

Product Features
  • Extensive single player: Featuring next generation gameplay and a wildly-engrossing story.
  • Complete two-person co-op: Multiplayer game featuring its own dedicated story, characters, and gameplay.
  • Advanced physics: Allows for the creation of a whole new range of interesting challenges, producing a much larger but not harder game.
  • Original music.
  • Massive sequel: The original Portal was named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.
  • Editing Tools: Portal 2 editing tools will be included.

✦ AI summary

Players overwhelmingly praise Portal as an exceptional game with creative puzzle design and engaging gameplay, consistently calling it "peak" and among the best games they've ever played. The main complaint centers around character frustration, particularly with Wheatley and the Personality Core, though this criticism is minor compared to the widespread enthusiasm for the overall experience.

Not very often that a classic game can stand the tests of time. I had tons of fun playing both single player and co-op when I was in high school, and I enjoy it just as much today, hunting all the achievements in both single player and with my partner. Perfect game.

This game was fantastic and took everything about the first game and made it better. It might be the best sequel game I've ever played. It took everything I loved about Portal and made it better imo. The humor is great, the mechanics are well balanced and it's a great step up from Portal. The world feels so much bigger and the puzzles were built upon nicely from the first game. Maybe I just got more used to it, but I also felt like the motion sickness I experienced in the first game wasn't as bad in the second game. Also has a great ending, so if you loved Portal, you definitely should play Portal 2.
