Sid Meier's Colonization (Classic)

Years ago my cousin had a computer and I did not. Overnights at his house were often spent by me bogarting it to play this and Daggerfall. This game is even more engaging now than it was then. Greater than the sum of its parts, Colonization is subtly quite deep. Getting a bunch of automated trade routes going in order to shuffle resources throughout your colonies is a satisfying example of the self-sufficiency that is the purpose of this game. Having a single colony attempt to produce everything is much more difficult than having a handful of colonies, each with their own specialty. Do you have access to tobacco? A small colony that only makes cigars can be much more profitable than you would think. Indeed, there is an intense economic sim aspect of this game. It's awesome, until the silver market collapses. This game runs flawlessly on Windows 11, the graphics have circled all the way around to in vogue again, and the soundtrack is so good. Colonization frequently goes on sale for very few $$$. Jump on it! You won't be disappointed.

Love the game have played for years it is dated with its graphics and movements but if you have children a nice safe game for them to get to grips with old style gaming.

Is a great game for its time. I have actually played an unknowable amount of hours in this game since its release.

Colonization brings Sid Meiers best AI playing skills to keep every game unique and interesting. Play as one of four colonial powers and build, nay, rule the world... keep the price of silver high by not selling too much at once... and mix the boatloads to hide the silver purchases. good luck.

Simple graphics, great gameplay and no rush. This is a game before everything was about looting the player during the game.
