A Plague Tale: Innocence

Just finished the game, very fun gameplay and heart touching story!

Good story, gameplay and graphics!

The game wasn't impossibly hard, nor was it even really that hard, but the story was a good one. I like how it tied in to the Bubonic Plague aka The Black Death and the puzzles and challenges. It is a great game to play through once, not something like God of War, but definitely a great game to play through at a relaxed pace when you want to play something that isn't overly complex or hard, but has a great story and even better character designs, developments, and imagery. I beat it in 23h, and that was including a couple do-overs and gathering all the collectibles. It you just play it through, I can imagine it being completed in roughly 15-20h.

The first thing I'll say is that the soundtrack REALLY drives home a lot of the emotion in my opinion. It really made you feel the helplessness or chaos of a given situation especially. I enjoyed the voice acting very much as well. I haven't played it in French yet, but I intend to play it that way when I do another playthrough. It also, in my opinion, looks beautiful. Sometimes the combat can feel a bit frustrating, but that's just the thing; open combat really isn't the intended solution 99% of the time, and the idea of having to directly confront the guards is and should be terrifying. One thing I really wanted to note too. At first, I was really annoyed with Hugo, kind of like Amicia, but throughout the game I genuinely came to care for him and care greatly about how he felt, what happened to him, and everything, and I'm 100% sure that was intentional by the dev team. I will say that the ending chapters have a bit of a significant difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game, but for me personally I didn't find it to be an obstacle in my enjoyment whatsoever, because it really made you feel like you earned it when you beat the game. I'd recommend this to just about anyon…
