Always watch so many youtubers playing this for years and years and I finally decided to give it a go for myself. Despite the hundreds of hours of gameplay I had watched it still took me far too long to escape my first prison, but thats a me issue - not a game issue. Classic fun game with so much to offer.
1. friend gifts me the escapist on sale 2. I remember key molds and beating up guards from when I was a child so I decide to relive the past 3. I load into the first "very easy" prison, shouldn't be too difficult 4. day 49, I've officially put myself in a time loop because I refuse to be stuck past 50 days, the guards all hate me cuz I keep beating them up, and I've been to solitary for messing up an escape more times then I prob should have been, im starting to think they want me to escape. after I finally found the molten plastic recipe, my life changed. I kinda dislike that the recipes are random but at the same time its the reason I've been stuck for over a month in a half in the starting prison so ig props for realism...

The Escapists is definitely a fun game, but has some issues. One thing I really appreciated in the Escapists 2 was that every different routine in every different prison had a different song, which really helped set the atmosphere of the prison. However, in this game (excluding som DLC prisons and free time routines) all of the routines share the same song across every prison. Another issue that I felt with this game while I was 100%ing it is that this game can be extremely brutal. Desk spawns, guards, contraband detectors, key doors, landmines and jeeps are some of the features that I believe make the Escapists way too hard. This can cause having to try escapes multiple times due to miniscule mistakes or just getting unlucky. Overall, this game is worth it, but I would recommend taking very decent sized breaks between sessions of playing this game.
