About Coated

Coated is a puzzle game where you play as an alien called Coateee in a different world.
You coat yourself with colors in order to escape and hide from enemies.
You can navigate through the levels going back and forth between them to solve your current puzzle.

The game is directed toward both adults and children. Adults will appreciate the clever user of color and young children will learn all about color. It is a game, an adventure, and a lesson.

This is the first part of a full game contains 6 worlds. Each world contains 25 levels plus a boss fight. There are more hidden levels, worlds, mods, and secrets which make the game more interesting. Each world will be released as an episode, but now here is the first one.

Enjoy the game's unique mechanics while hiding from enemies and solving puzzles. Everything in Coated’s world depends on colors. You can coat yourself, as well as merge, multiply, & subtract colors to create a different color. Color is also integral in how you interact with most of the objects in the environment.

The game contains:
 • 25 levels
 • A puzzle based boss fight
 • 30 Achievements
 • Brand new gameplay.
 • Different color mechanics
 • A game menu
 • Smart juice

When I first saw COATED in the Upcoming section, it looked interesting enough to bookmark for further examination upon release. I'm grown hesitant to actually buy day-of-release games, expecially if no discount is offered. But when I saw the following message on the Store Page, the decision was made: "If you got a good experience, don't forget to mention that "Only" if you've a free moment. But in case you got a bad experience, then you "MUST" speak about it, that way you'll get better games next time." This degree of commitment made the purchase decision easy. And the first few minutes of play indicates that this may just turn out to be a very pleasant game, at a fair price (even without discount.) One thing I've learned is that the most important aspect of any new game is a concerned DEV. I wonder, however, if I'll be the only player to accidentally loose all my save data by simply attempting to exit the OPTIONS screen. I'm not sure that gameplay should be a component of the setup menus. For small children, or their beginner parents wanting to bond, this sort of rage-inducing feature might be a bad idea. If Blind Color is the same as Color Blind, having 2 levels to select for…

A simple puzzle game with charming visuals. I liked the overall atmosphere of the game a lot, but eventually I got bored with the rudimentary puzzles.

I liked the backtracking mechanics and redoing levels with new colors, and I loved the visual color accessibility available for users. Unfortunately, I found it harder to avoid not breaking the game than to actually play the levels. I recommend it only for players with more discipline in not abusing glitches, who are interested in spending a little time with the game’s simple but interesting mechanics.

This game looks like it should be a decent little game, but it's utterly broken (on Linux). * Requires a symlink to be created to be able to start the game. * Completely broken keyboard controls: it ignores keys being released.
