✦ AI summary

Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is an atmospheric hidden-object adventure set in an intriguing underwater city that players praise for its mysterious story, atmospheric visuals, and accessible gameplay with adjustable difficulty options. The main complaints center on excessive backtracking through rooms without fast travel, a hint system that doesn't recharge efficiently, and occasional bugs, though the game is generally stable and holds up well overall. Most players recommend it as a relaxing, enjoyable experience for fans of the genre, particularly if played on sale rather than at full price.

This game was played in its entirety on a MacBook Air M1 8gb ram 7c gpu running MacOS Sonoma. There were two bugs of moderate severity, but no in-game crashes throughout my time with the game. All achievements unlocked at their appropriate times. Let's get the bugs out of the way first, as most people probably know what they are getting into when they purchase one of these games. The first is not too bad. The game almost always crashed rather than exited properly. I never lost progress and the game never crashed otherwise. The second is worse, but it may be related to my computer setup as I have not seen too many people complaining about the same issue in the discussions. There are several ways to interact with the game: you have the point and click adventure portion, minigames, hidden objects (of both word and image variety) and dominos. This bug affects the last three (the two types of hidden objects, and dominos). Unfortunately, as you play these, the game stutters and the frames per second vary wildly from one moment to the next. It's not just bad performance, but the performance randomly goes up and down. This makes it difficult to click on the items. I've found that if I c…

Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is a really atmospheric hidden-object adventure with an impressive underwater setting. Exploring the abandoned city of Eden gives the game a strong sense of mystery, and I liked slowly discovering what happened to the people who lived there. I enjoyed the story and exploration, although some puzzles are fairly easy and there is a bit too much backtracking. Overall, a very enjoyable adventure for fans of mystery and supernatural games. Enjoy :)

I was looking for a relaxing game to finish in a night or two, this game is a good choice. The story is easy to follow with some twists, light Lovecraftian horror, people being captured and possessed, disappearing corpses… It’s basically a popcorn movie in game form, good after a busy day. The mini games and hidden object are generally good. You always have access to hints, if you don’t feel like finding items you can switch to a board game alternative. The potion making puzzle was a bit confusing for me, but I’m always terrible at it in other games like HP or Kingdom Come, so I appreciated puzzles can be skipped after a short wait. Your objectives are clearly laid out in the notes and on the map. My only complaint is that you can’t fast travel but have to walk through every room, and there are a lot of rooms so it takes some time. Good thing is each room is designed with enough visual detail so backtracking doesn't feel completely tedious. Pretty fun, One of the games my grandma had on her Kindle Fire when I was a child. Played it again for Nostalgia and it holds up pretty well, I do wish these games were just a little longer sometimes, but for what you get it's not bad at all, I do so adore the backgrounds and environments in this game. very pretty.

I wish there was a "meh" option, rather than thumbs up/down for this game. It has all the colorful sites and creative puzzles/hidden object games as others by Artifex Mundi but this one has a couple negatives: 1) you have to traverse through the halls, rooms and floors one step at a time rather than transporting, which adds a lot of busy work and time wasting and 2)the hint menu constantly idles rather than recharging, so you are on your own when you get stuck. I like this genre of game but this particular one ranks lower on the totem pole.
