Nicolas Eymerich The Inquisitor Book II : The Village

One of the greatest mysteries in life is how this game has mixed reviews instead of negative. It is such a bad and very buggy point and click and every character in it is so highly unlikable. I don't own the first game so I didn't play it, but I don' think doing that would change my mind in any way. This game is just so bad. Works fine on Linux with Proton (6.3-8) at least.

The inquisitor Book 2 is continues the story of the father Nicolas Eymerich , who has arrived into remote village of Calcarès to investigate a blasphemous case of the Devil presence in that area. Very thrilling story line, challenging and entertaining puzzles and deep-atmospheric soundtrack. Simply great!

I liked the first game, but this one is a downgrade in every aspect, except for the graphics, they got much better.

I liked this, but it was on the edge of disliking. The story continues, all the same as the previous. But there are so many ways to get stuck, It's terrible. Couldn't do it without few times checking a walkthrough and even video, since some bugs can't be explained with just text

I am still trying to get through this cryptic game as an experienced point and click adventure gamer as I write this review. I can honestly say as a logical thinker a lot of the puzzles do not make sense at all and I am confused as to what to do next, is it any wonder they put a help system in place via the cross in the task bar. Cryptic puzzles, pixel hunting and revisiting a scene to discover something new is the old frustrating way to kill this genre. If a young player who has never played adventure games tried this they would never attempt to play another adventure game again, just look at what Revolution Software have done to bring the Brokensword Remastered Series to new players. This is a very buggy and frustrating game. What a poor release from Microids, oh by the way I played the first game as well and it was very similar and just as frustrating.

Not as good as the first one but I still like the game, certainly going to get the next part if its made. Not as up to the quality of the first one, maybe because Eymerich shocked me in the first one and now I new what to expect. That's not to say a couple of the scenes didn't freak me out abit but even the worst of what he did didn't seem that bad least for him, and at times felt more like a kindness which felt wrong and weird. Puzzles where decent enough, still relying a little to heavily on repeating puzzles that are tedious the first time, however I worked through them all like a champ no slithering out of puzzles for me, I forged my way through with patience. Though where it ends, is a hell of a cliffhanger. The only thing I didn't like was addition of the other priest I felt he was dull and unrequired, and it drew focus away to much from Nicholas far to much. All that said certainly getting Book III if its made, I need to see the conclusion.
