About Loud or Quiet

Loud or Quiet is a brutal top down shooter set in a fictional 90's America. After losing your job, your plan to rob your workplace goes drastically wrong when you are dragged into a life of crime by a mysterious woman who is not who she seems.

Work your way through 25 levels, stealing objects to earn money and purchase new weapons with anything from silenced covert pistols to rocket launchers being available to you. The game has over 18 different weapons to tailor to your playstyle. Will you be a ghost only killing when absolutely necessary? Or will you embrace your bloodlust and leave nothing but corpses in your wake.

In addition to story mode there are two other game modes, Arcade Mode is where you are dropped into a level and have to complete a number of objectives before a timer reaches zero and escape. Should the timer reach zero an insurmountable number of enemies will come to try and stop you. The second mode is Apocalypse mode which is set in an alternate universe and tells the story of how a bad job almost destroys the world.

Players appreciate Loud || Quiet as a more forgiving, strategic alternative to Hotline Miami with an excellent soundtrack and good value, but criticize its clunky mechanics like awkward movement controls, the ability to interact with objects through walls, and frustrating enemy AI that shoots from offscreen. The hybrid Hotline Miami/Payday approach creates tension between stealth and loud gameplay that doesn't always work smoothly in single-player, and some UI elements like how to access missions need clearer communication.
Good value for money, like hotline Miami but abit more forgiving. It's a simplistic top down shooter an extremely varied soundtrack then look no further. Was a bit confused with the controls and what to do to begin with but once I got the hang of it was alright. But you need to make it clearer that the computer in the apartment is used to start missions.4 found this helpful
this game is fun and enjoyable despite it looking like a low budget Hotline miami, but that isn't exactly a bad thing as you can plan your way through a stage instead of going in guns blazing, and the story is intriguing(Note this review is written when im halfway through the story and haven't checked out any other aside from it).2 found this helpful
It's got hotline miami 2's "enemies shooting you from offscreen" problem in spades, so even if it wasn't for the janky core mechanics (you can open crates through walls, for one, and also just generally moving and looking around feels painful) it wouldn't be a great game. ...I should have read the russian review instead of buying this game.2 found this helpful
Loud || Quiet tries to combine Hotline Miami and Payday, but because a lot of the mechanics from Payday don't work so well in a single player experience, it ends up playing like Metal Gear Miami, except you don't have Snake's gear (not even a cardboard box) or Jacket's brutal melee, which makes going loud or quiet a huge pain in the ass. While being able to buy weapons is nice, I would much rather have to pick them up from the enemy instead of having to search for an ammo box. A noble attempt but as is kinda frustrating.1 found this helpful
