About Shot in the Dark
Shot in the Dark is a classic western tale of bloody vengeance, rituals, and teeth in the dark. Take up the gun of the lone bandit as they stop at nothing in the pursuit of vengeance. The only thing standing between the bandit and their quarry are the occult nightmares lurking in the darkness. From demons to cultists and long dead gunslingers, all manner of foes are arrayed against you.

Shot in the Dark offers a unique challenge, combining nail biting pixel perfect platforming with precise point and click shooting. But many of the cruel creatures of the night remain hidden in shadow. The bandit will have to be on the lookout for glowing red eyes, shadows moving through the trees, and figures lurking in the night. Because sometimes the only sign of a demon on your trail is the slight movement of the tall grass. And sometimes all you can do is take a shot in the dark.

Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 5/5 Notes: Starts off deceptively simple and easy, but has a pretty good difficulty curve and gets pretty challenging later on. Visuals are very minimalist but look great and are used to enhance the gameplay in interesting ways. Soundtrack is also great. No real complaints except I wish it was maybe slightly longer and had some kind of arcade mode. Expect about 2-4 hours of playtime based on skill level and whether you go for achievements.4 found this helpful
This game is both really fun, and also challenging enough to make you feel like you accomplished something by the end of the last level. The enemy mechanics are really fun to work around and the platforming sections do reach a level of complexity that you wouldn't really expect from a hidden game like this (seriously, why aren't more people talking about this). It really makes me wish that this game had twice the amount of levels it did; but for now I'll be content with grabbing all the achievements. If you want a short but intriguing platformer, with well thought out enemies and level design, then you got one right here! Edit: If you're going for the YOLO achievement, I recommend practicing the level after "Red Eye Rush", "Fury and Shadow", and "All Lined Up". For some reason these levels can randomly have the monsters stop bouncing between walls, so you should probably make a strategy with that in mind.1 found this helpful
Excellent game, very challenging but extremely rewarding to pull off.
A masterclass in minimalist game design - everything about this experience is incredibly thoughtful, polished, and well executed. The visuals are excellently implemented and tie closely with the level design to create an impressive vibe and gameplay experience that is truly unique. I'm excited to go back and finish this. Hope to see more from this developer!
