About Creatura

Creatura has open-ended "sandbox-like" gameplay mode, with beautiful bonsai experience of any vivarium you can think of, and challenging educational scenarios, including extensive tutorial. Sell plant cuttings to buy decorations and consumables, research fauna & flora to unlock advanced DNA editing methods, and with enough patience and luck, grow rare and unique specimens for trading. Or just watch the grass growing, with up-to-date biology research based on Charles Darwin and Gregor Mendel legacy, it's all science after all.
- Use artificial selection to grow any possible plant out of billions of combinations, or utilize natural selection to breed unique animals, dependent on adapting to their environments.
- Learn how to edit DNA, understand concepts like genomes, codons & gene sequencing, and apply your own genetic engineering using the GCAT system and authentic DNA editor.
- Control the time to watch hundreds of plants and animals evolve in just seconds by utilizing up to 1000x time-lapse, in a highly optimized and smooth gaming experience.
- Manage a fully simulated virtual aquarium/terrarium. Grow plants to generate oxygen, use consumables and decorations to control pH, maintain humidity with temperature and water.
- Customize the tank stand, rims and lid, colors, shape the ground, water level, and decorate it with a wide range of unlockable rare parts and decorations.
- Grow and breed specimens until mutating the rare and unique variations to make your vivarium even more special, or to sell/trade them for great profit.
- Discover millions of possible plants and animals, name them, and be the first to put them in global almanac, as a part of your evolutionary research.
- Create the most visually stunning virtual bonsai aquariums/terrariums, in a relaxing and educational gaming environment without any fail conditions.
- Use or make your own texture packs (with Steam Workshop support) for even more unique experience.

The most Unrealistic simulation of DNA ever... Pros: Cool style, cosmetics Cons: Confusing AF with no clear tutorials inaccuret AF I litterly grinded for 45 mins after looking up so many tutorialss and didnt Get any creature Birthed from the air Over all just a game, that trys (And fails) to be as realistic and Kinda fails when it comes to guiding the player2 found this helpful
Couldn't get passed even the tutorial because the instructions were terribly unclear and downright obtuse. It could be the most amazing game in the world but I'll never know because it doesn't make itself accessible. It's mostly silent text dump that occasionally highlights the button you're supposed to click, but that's as interactive as it gets. The specific bit that made me throw my hands up and request a refund was the bit where you were supposed to "inject a seed with mutagen." Kept telling me to "click on the seed" but there's no seed on screen, no directions or even a description of where I might find it. It could be the most mind-bending awesome game to ever be put to code, but I'll never know because it makes only the most token effort to be accessible. Put in a request for a refund a few minutes ago.2 found this helpful
Definitely glitchy with a clunky UI, but the gene-editing and evolution simulation is incredible. Tons of fun. Even just playing with plants kept me entertained for hours before I started evolving my flatworms into anything. The tutorials help get the hang of things and are necessary because there's so little labelling in the UI.1 found this helpful
you should play this if you have any interest in genetics, creature collecting, and have a high need for cognition based activities. It takes awhile to figure out how the mechanics work but once you do it turns into an obsession if you are into these types of things. There are so few games that let you mess with / observe genetics in a believable and in-depth way so it really scratches that itch for me. I grew up playing the Creatures series by Steve Grand and messing around with breeding hex-based abominations in the Petz 4 and 5 games by PF magic. This game lets you mess with and observe artificial life in a similar but more complex way. The creatures in the game are also very well designed and iconic. I love the built in tool that lets you save an animated .gif of any creature. Even though the creatures eventually pass on it is ok because I love looking at my .gif collection of weird and charming creatures that I have gene manipulated and bred into having way too big eyes and contrasting colors. The plant system is interesting as well and the same developer has a game all about plants which is a great game too. I hope that the developer either makes a new game to expand on …
tickles my brain good
It's definitely not your average aquarium game. But if you like messing around on someone/something's genes and are willing to learn for this about what aminoacids are and what each one does, then this is THE Game for YOU! (I didn't bother to know that in school, but this game is so much fun that i work up that knowledge now, 30 years later or so.)
