Players are sharply divided on this simple wave-survival platformer. Critics describe it as an extremely basic, repetitive experience with minimal content—essentially a single arena where you dodge enemies and collect orbs to level up or earn credits for cosmetic skins, with gameplay that feels like an unfinished tutorial project. Supporters, however, appreciate it as a casual time-waster that's fun to play passively while doing other activities, praise its affordable price point, and note that the skins look appealing, though they acknowledge the repetitiveness and occasional hitbox issues de
This isn't much of a game. It just feels like someone started tinkering around in Unity for the first time and completed a beginners tutorial. Why someone would charge money for this is beyond my comprehension. There is just 1 simple level with 4 platforms where up to 3 enemies spawn in from the sky and they either go left or right - following the exact same path until they fall into a hole at the bottom and respawn again. The enemies spawn in with random speeds and hit points, but it is essentially the same thing over and over. All you do is jump over them and collect orbs to level up or shoot enemies to get points to purchase skins. The skins do nothing and leveling up just makes the bullets do slightly more damage, but the gun is almost pointless anyway as it's just easier to jump over them or avoid them since they are very predictable. If that wasn't bad enough the achievements take forever to get. The orbs needed to level up grow exponentially so to get to level 10 you have to collect for hours.16 found this helpful
Yellow penguin in a grindfest
Playing that game for more than 4 hours was really painful. The variability of gameplay is as grey as the background is. You are simply grinding in this very basic arena of 3 platform layers and try to dodge as many brown gombas as possible. Enemies disappear in the below middle portal and spawn again randomly from above. As more orbs you collect as more enemies spawn at the same time. Your only weapon is a pistol which can be upgraded for 10 secs by faster ammo. The other powerup is faster movement. There are two goals in-game: 1. Shoot enemies for credits to buy skins. 2. Collect randomly appearing orbs to uplevel. The grindfest starts if you realize that the last skin costs you 16k credits while gaining only 20 credits for one shotdown. And to reach level 10 you have to collect 16k XP while one orb brings you only 20 XP. So you have to play for a looooong time this stupid game.12 found this helpful
Icky is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one isn't exactly a Unity asset flip, if it was, the graphics would be better, but it does look like either someone's homework assignment, or someone just copy + pasted a tutorial/demo for a Unity platformer and put their own skin on it... either way, it's garbage. This is a single screen wave survival shooter where red blobs fall out the sky and run down along the platforms. You can shoot them (doesn't seem to work) or just avoid them. That's all there is to this, it's hard to even describe it as a complete game, and yet here it is on Steam with a price tag on it. What a joke. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings I've ever hurt my eyes on. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, t…4 found this helpful

K so if im being real with you the owner/dev of this game is my friend but this is a %100 honest review. Pros. Good fun game. good fun when baked. skins you can buy look sick. Something i can play for hours well watching a show. and theres a lot more i can write but it would be to long. Games only $3 Cad. REALLY CHEEP for how much fun it is. Cons. Sometimes the hit boxes kill you when it should not. Wish there was more skins and stuff to work for. Game at times can feel really repetitive like the comment above wish there was more. Thats about it for cons tbh really like the game. 8.5/103 found this helpful
