About House of Velez part 1
Lily Velez, daughter of famous archaeologist Victor Velez, returns home to her family's estate following news of her father's sudden disappearance. Intent on finding clues to her missing father's whereabouts, and evidence to prove his innocents involving a scandal within his company, Lily begins her search. However, she is about to uncover something that will take her far beyond her own investigation. Something that will force her to fight for her very survival. Follow Lily into her own worst nightmare as she uncovers the dark and sadistic history that lies within the walls of the House of Velez.
House of Velez is a horror game based around stealth/puzzle elements. It emphasizes sneaking, running and hiding mechanics to surpass obstacles rather than combat.
The game features a "Focus Mode" that allows you to see your pursuers' field of vision and hearing radius, while also monitoring your own noise levels.
Another feature is "Heart Rate Suppression" that restricts movement, but allows you to become "invisible" when used effectively.
House of Velez draws inspiration from titles like Haunting Ground and even film such as the 1980's Hellraiser.

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise this horror game for its distinctive visual style reminiscent of 90s media, atmospheric storytelling, and excellent voice acting and writing that creates genuine dread. However, some note significant technical issues including game-breaking bugs and performance problems on high-end PCs with high refresh rates, though the game reportedly runs better on Steam Deck, and the experience is relatively short since it's part 1 of a series.
This game lacks subtitles , which for someone who can't hear well makes the game unplayable.1 found this helpful
Very good game, if short! I went into the game knowing what to expect, so I wasn't particularly shocked as I have played similar games before, but I did really enjoy it both as a horror story and in terms of the creativity behind the death scenes. Looking forward to the remake, and I hope (and am sure) it will have even more horror, sexuality and gore, as I think it always makes a good combo, like with the World of Agony. Of course, there are downsides to it. The controls (namely being the heartbeat suppression and the inability to sneak or even move completely randomly) and the difficulty did hold it back, and I am sad to say having to pause and be forced to listen to the same voice lines before each stealth sequence did get on my nerves, but all in all, I felt better by the end than when I first began.1 found this helpful
Quite short, about 1h of gameplay, but nice for for a single developer. Captured the horror aspects pretty well and has interesting character concepts.
Thank you for the game. Great.
A wonderful passion project / love letter to classic horror, solo dev too!
This is definitely one of my top 10 favorite horror games I've ever played. For a game that's only 3-4 hours long, especially at this price, I can't recommend it enough. This game genuinely had me stressed out during a lot of the stealth sections because the stealth mechanic is tight. It's not brutally difficult, but it's challenging enough to force you to fully focus. The puzzles are also quite difficult and were pretty fun to figure out. There was one that I had to look up because of how oddly designed and confusing it was, but I'm also an idiot, so that's probably more on me. I won't say anything about the story because I don't want to spoil it, but I loved it. When you get the good ending, everything from the beginning is fully explained. I really liked how it wrapped almost everything up while still leaving a few things open for a future game. It honestly makes me sad that this game isn't more well known because it deserves way more attention. I'm really glad I ended up finding it. 10/10 Experience. I'm really looking forward to the remake.
