Serial Lover

I was intrigued from this game all the way back in 2022 and wanted to try it out a lot back in the demo the rhythm game had some really iffy songs and bad charting and I stuck it out trying to hope it got better but it didn't. some of the worst rhythm game songs I have tried to play along with and the charting did NOT help any making the hardest difficulty almost impossible to sightread just for the story to end on "we will not explain anything until NEXT GAME!" the ENTIRE STORY OF THIS GAME IS EXPLAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION.

Something light and sweet enjoyable for what it was. Bit disappointed by the ending. Hopefully next game they expand on some elements of the story. the rhythm game was alright for what it was. Price was too high for my liking for what the game was.

this game is pretty good tho the rhythm parts r pretty hard and strict even tho i had it on easy, i usally dont struggle this much on rhythm games, but i still had fun!!! cant wait for the next game :3

Alright, so this is an interesting case of a genre blend that surprisingly works when it shouldn't work. Serial Lover is a Independent Dark Comedy Horror Romance Visual Novel Rhythm Game where you romance.... Well, Serial Killers. A bit odd, but lets jump into it. First, I want to say, stumbling upon this game was very funny for me. A day of doom scrolling on Instagram of all things led me to this, and I'm quite happy I did. It looked interesting, I like visual novels, and I'm open of exploring different games and flavors of genres I like. Horror is still bit new to me yet as we all say, Indie developers deserve some praise. So leading to its January release, I was looking forward to see if this game with its multi genre approach would work well. And thankfully, it did! Its not perfect, but what it gets right, it gets oh so right. And while I wouldn't say there's anything bad about it either, some parts are definitely on the chopping block for this review. I loved the game but I kinda assumed each character would have an ending not a linear one but I did like the mechanic on you have to make use of your checkpoints in order to get new choices which is something that I liked in games only when it isn't too complicated. For the long version. In my opinion it should've been longer to develop the characters more and their interactions with the player that didn't involve having to "go back" cause I feel like it would've been better if they had more screen time and/or more interactions that they would remember not only by us. At the end as I mentioned I did like the mechanic on you have to make use of checkpoints for example in the 3rd reset to checkpoint a new choice appears, and at the end when you have to confront each character to learn their past and at the end of each one you have to go back cause, well... you died, but you did learn their past and what they're like and keep that information which is good but as I mentioned earlier as well it should have been longer so that the characters and the player spend more time together and interact with each other that remains a memory to both the character(s) and…
