Park It! (2025)

🔹 EXPECTATIONS: a grid-based game with a difficulty range between easy to hard. 🔹 REALITY: a short pathfinding game that's gentle and easy. 🔶 Park it! is a small and short pathfinding game (~2h) where you need to position a vehicle in the right spot, facing the correct direction, in a limited amount of moves. It consists in 6 chapters, each with 13 levels introducing a new mechanic. 🔸 Some mechanics are unique to this game, like the oil spill and the pile of tyres, and while discovering its intricacies is fun and takes some mind-adjustment, I found the difficulty was fairly easy overall. I also finished some levels with spare moves, which is uncommon in pathfinding games. 🔸 This along with its visual design, makes me think it's meant for a more general player base, not for the most dedicated puzzle players. It has a story (we are actually a cat driving the car), that only appears at the beginning and the end, and serves as an excuse for what we do. 🔸 Park it! is a nice and pleasant short experience that does everything right but doesn't stand out or innovates in any aspect.
