A Tale for Anna

It is a beautiful hidden-object game that doesn't feature separate hidden-object scenes but instead uses the actual game backgrounds for that purpose. I liked that concept and enjoyed the short overview of the current settings, but that's about it. The problem with having the backgrounds be the actual hidden-object scenes is a lot of jumping between screens, trying to spot whatever you currently need. In addition you can't just pick up anything, only the items you are actually looking for. This means you first have to find a spot requiring a specific item and then keep returning to the various locations. The hint also doesn't have a cooldown - you have to search for petals to activate a new one, even more running back and forth. But what I disliked the most were the minigames. They weren't challenging, they were tedious. Many of them would have been a lot better if you could simply drag objects. But no, you had to click, move to an empty spot, wait for an animation, click, move to an empty spot, wait, rince repeat. I skipped most of them because of that. The story wasn't anything special. I am one for loving puzzle games, however I did not find this very fun. First time I've ever willingly started skipping puzzles. (No casual vs challenging difficulty settings.) I wish I liked this more. The idea of objects being found in multiple locations is cool, but the problem arises when you don't know which location you are supposed to be staring at without using a hint, which is not on a timer like every other game, you have to find multiple items to get a hint back. When the main idea of your game becomes tedious, it removes the enjoyment from the game. Sorry, wish them better luck if they make any more.

A charming hidden object game with some very questionable instructions. A Tale for Anna is a pretty little hidden object game that can easily keep you busy for a few enjoyable hours. The scenes are beautifully designed, and the objects are generally easy to spot. If you do get stuck, there’s also a hint system to help you out. For achievement hunters like me, there’s another bonus: You get all achievements naturally through the story, making this a very easy 100% completion ^^ Unfortunately, I wasn’t a big fan of most of the mini-games. Part of that is because the instructions were often only partially visible. I never found a way to see the full text, so in several cases I had no idea what the game actually wanted from me and ended up skipping them. Still, despite that annoyance, I enjoyed my time with it. If you like hidden object games and fairy tale adventures, this one is definitely worth the money ^^

Some puzzles were really easy, some made me rage and spend a ♥♥♥♥ tone of time xd Somewhat naive, looks like made for kids, but still pretty much enjoyable. Can`t say that it is not worth time, just a nice story.
