PHYSARUM: Slime Mold Simulator

very cool simulator, im using it for my architecture school for exploring organic shapes and patterns, and its been very useful! thanks for making it!!

What it does it does well. Responsive, multiple ways to play with it. Fun and worth the money if you like looking at things like this.

Very nice and cool feature set with a unique concept... however, stability, stability, stability. stability is meh on a machine with 16 cores and 24gb ram when used in video mode, which is why I got it. for 6 bucks however, this can be overlooked as every other part is stable, and video is only like this if you change and load a crap ton of settings waaaay to fast. for the price it is good and recommended but would absolutely love to see it updated once again just to address final stability. Thank you!

Great simulator for a reasonable price. While it may seem simple, there is a very large amount of differing behaviors and patterns that can emerge when you tweak settings. For example, setting sensor angle above 90 can result in circular patterns forming, and tweaking sensor offset and speed can tweak how exactly they look. Also, if you buy this, try the morph option using 2 slimes that form entirely different structures; like slime A making circles while slime B makes the standard web pattern. Overall, very good for fidgeting or making neat visuals; Autism approved.

A lot of this is really pretty, but I was hoping to try the "Tokyo Subway" experiment simulation over a map of my hometown. Not really sure if that is possible with this, though. It'll make cool shots for video, for sure, but I'm not sure it'll do what I wanted.

I love this. It's so creative and interesting. I run it on my 2nd display essentially as a wallpaper engine, because the patterns are so enthralling. They can be incredibly chaotic, or slow and meditative. I highly recommend messing around with this and randomise a slime for a while, the tweak it to your liking. This isn't a game - it's a simulation. It takes a moment to understand, but it's not very complex unless you want it to be. To whoever made this, I love how well it runs and the creative vision behind it. It's clearly very technical, but the product is so creative. I love this type of stuff.
