This review comes from a huge DnD fan. This game just fails flat on everything it tries to achieve. There is 0 roleplay, the story is ok, but it's just NPCs spouting exposition at you. The game is 99 percent combat, this could be fine if the combat evolved at all. You barely grow stronger, the things you do at level 1 will be the same as max level. This is probably the only game, where i get annoyed when i level up, because all my upgrade choices are either bad, meaningless, or RNG dependent. The only piece of equipment you can have on your characters are the weapons and even they are bad and depend on RNG. The cherry on top is that the game takes every opportunity to cheat and make you feel like a bozo for playing good. This is hard to explain, it's more of thing you notice during play, but the most constant thing is that enemies have effects that are not listed, move and attack beyond their reach, and the worst offenders are the bosses, who completely ignore taunts/blocked paths move and attack however they wish multiple times a turn and summon infinite adds. It's a real shame, because the presentation of the game is great(the art style and ability animations), but there is no re…
I didn't play the original Demeo, but I had fun with this one. As frustrating as this game can be, dear lord this game needs an undo button. The number of time you make mistakes because of how you have to move your pieces around will have you screaming for that undo button. Also that critical miss roll comes up waaaay more then it should. These things said it was still an enjoyable game.

Overall a recommend. Game runs smooth and decent tactics. Story ok. A couple cons: Not given choice to replace a card when hand is full. Under 20 hours of gameplay.
TL:DR - Zooming into 1st place but lagging behind because of the need for multiplayer. The need for multi isn't exactly game-breaking, but, it is glaringly obvious...
