FishWitch Halloween

Fortunately, in my never ending quest for something I can play while on my breaks with one hand holding a sandwich, and my other on the mouse, I have found FishWitch Halloween. When you play the first level, you might notice that it resembles a bit like Clover Tales by Five BN Games. However, unlike Clover Tales, FishWitch Halloween doesn't market itself as 'free to play' and then nickle and dime you with the in-game monetization required to unlock packages of crystals that is an in-game currency to recharge certain abilities, as well as play games without having to wait for the energy bar to recharge itself over real-time. Nope, FishWitch Halloween does it right by just charging you a nominal one-time price, as it should, and then let you play the game to gain gold, which in turn is used to unlock ornaments, which also give you crystals that are used to recharge your abilities. I love this match 3 game! One of my favorites! Great game play and relaxing (relaxed mode). No impossible levels. Decent power-ups created in-game. Great graphics, sounds & animations! Only negative is having to replay levels to finish Sanctuary (maybe because I played relaxed?) and items automatically placed in sanctuary (can't be moved around?). Another possible negative is sound.... it's possible that sound volume is changed for whole PC and not just this game? Would like to see Steam achievements and trading cards but great game without them! Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and will definitely play it again!

As someone who used to play Match 3 games back in the day, it was great getting back on the train. Adorable art style with simple mechanics. There is a bit of voice acting from your mermaid friend but little to no story. It was fun purchasing all the decorations and fishies to your Sanctuary for Halloween.

What to say about this game...it's a Match 3 game that you can play between real games. The only bug I found: sometimes 2 tiles are overlapping and using the same space. If that happens with an item (chest, key) than you can only restart the level. At full price I wouldn't buy it, but for €2 it's OK.
