About The Last Worker

The Last Worker is an immersive narrative adventure centered around a lone worker’s last stand in an increasingly automated world, with a unique blend of work simulation and stealth strategic gameplay.
The game is set in a lonely, oppressive but strangely beautiful environment, with characters designed by comics legend Mick McMahon.
Kurt works for the world’s largest retailer and is forced to choose between capitalism or activism. Having dedicated his life to work, Kurt’s loyalty is put to the test when a group of activists ask him to dismantle Jüngle from the inside.
Aboard his corporate issued flying JünglePod and armed with his multi-purpose JüngleGun, Kurt dispatches countless products from a fulfilment centre the size of the sunken city of Manhattan.
Kurt (voiced by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) has dedicated his life to Jüngle, with only his co-bot, Skew (Jason Isaacs) to keep him company. But when S.P.E.A.R., a group of activists, asks Kurt to help dismantle Jüngle from the inside, Kurt is forced to discover his employer’s dark underbelly.
The Last Worker delivers an emotional, thought provoking and inspiring story with rich characters performed by an all-star cast starring, Jason Isaacs, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Clare-Hope Ashitey, David Hewlett, Zelda Williams and Tommie Earl Jenkins.
Hand-painted 3D characters and environments based on concepts by comics legend Mick McMahon (Judge Dredd, 2000 AD)
Hours of narrative, immersive gameplay in a giant hand-crafted environment.
A story worthy of the big screen - A collaboration between writer/director Jörg Tittel (The White King, Ricky Rouse Has a Gun) and VR pioneers Wolf & Wood (A Chair in a Room: Greenwater, The Exorcist: Legion, Hotel R’n’R).
Rich characters performed by an all-star cast in a story filled with heartfelt drama, biting satire and intense action. Starring Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jason Isaacs, Clare-Hope Ashitey, David Hewlett, Zelda Williams and Tommie Earl Jenkins.

The Last Worker, developed by Oiffy and Wolf & Wood Interactive Ltd and published by Wired Productions, is an ambitious narrative-driven adventure that blends dystopian satire with first-person gameplay and striking graphic novel aesthetics. Set in a near-future world dominated by an all-encompassing retail corporation known as Jüngle, the game casts players as Kurt, the company’s last remaining human warehouse employee in a facility otherwise run entirely by automation and AI. What begins as a routine simulation of monotonous warehouse labor gradually unfolds into a morally complex story about corporate overreach, economic dependency, and the psychological toll of being the final human cog in a mechanized empire. From its opening moments, The Last Worker establishes a distinct tone through its bold, hand-drawn art style inspired by comic book legend Mick McMahon. Characters are exaggerated yet expressive, environments are angular and stylized, and the colossal warehouse complex feels both surreal and oppressive. The art direction gives the game a unique visual identity that separates it from more photorealistic dystopian titles. This stylization works in harmony with strong voice…4 found this helpful
I bought it purely because it looks kind of cool in the videos on some social media platform. But in the end I didn't liked it. The only really good thing is voiceacting. It's really great - I loved it. The rest not so much. Almost every aspect is just bad enough to be repulsive: movement, handling, default keyboard layout, puzzles and minigames. Story revolts around being in Nier: Amazon warehouse edition working 25 years and then becoming a hero like Luke Skywalker whom proton torpedo didn't blow Death Star because it was faulty. I would bet that developers wanted this facility to look like Portal 2 decayed labs, but it was too low effort. Borderland graphic style is almost good, but low res textures are killing it. Everyday's mini game of "fetch" is starting to be boring even at first day when you are starting to hearing the same catch-phrases again and again. And you will need to do this around 5-10 times, so you will be border as ♥♥♥♥. The rest of mini games are half decent. I think this game should just be a rail-road game, like American Dream. It would be so much better this way.3 found this helpful
Simple, short, addictive... Good story, multiple endings, and almost relaxing. I really enjoyed this game!1 found this helpful
The game has a lot of stealth segments for those who love stealth and it has a very engaging and interesting story.1 found this helpful
[Valve index user review] The last worker brings an interesting idea forth of a middle aged warehouse worker but fails to deliver transforming it into a gaming experience nor compelling story. The quirks from the rainbow haired CEO to the humingbird quips were hit and miss for me, the writing ladeled with bacon fat thick dad humor. The voice acting is surprisingly well done. Good - [Accessibility] Option to skip to next level when 'Jungle' score/time objectives weren't reached - [Difficulty] Forgiving checkpoints in the story "stealth" sections - [Ending] Three "endings", although each a bit weird [spoiler]why is there 1 year gap?[/spoiler] Meh - [Setting] Live out a near retirement age overweight warehouse workers routine living inside a scrap yard - [Story] The first noteworthy character get introduced, killed off and brought again twice - [Clunky controls] -- The hacking "puzzles" on the joystick seem to double flip, trigger and dragging the box worked ok -- The moving with the cane arrow/indicator showed up in dialogues way before it could be triggered -- Moving the 'forklift" only when holding the left trigger felt unnatural/unnecessary Bad - [Shameless repetition] From t…1 found this helpful
gameplay was kind of repetitive and none of the story arcs really came to a satisfying conclusion. Which is unfortunate since the story was otherwise fairly good. Very short game too
