Sequel to Axial Disc 1 it feels more like a continuation of the game than a sequel more than likely the reason for the naming. It seems to be more of the same with some considerable differences in battle with specific screens for summons and you get a special attack with each character! I just completed the game and true to the naming convention and developers intention this did feel like a continuation of the story of the first game. As if the events of the first game was to lead up to the second game, it gives you a lot of cool secrets and side content to take care of but doesn't overwhelm you. Overall this was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend checking out Disc 1 first if you haven't already.

Axial Disc 1 and Disc 2, a double game in this modern era. It would be inaccurate to say that Disc 2 is a sequel, because it is more literally a second disc that completes the story. Much like the older era of PS1 games (looking at you Final Fantasy) where you had two to three discs for a single game. While Disc 1 does not have a bad ending to it, it does feel somewhat incomplete. So you could still get a rather good experience and story all from playing this free game. That's right, Disc 1 is free and it is Disc 2 that costs money. I would also like to say, for a free game to let you try the game out and see if it is your liking, and only getting the complete story by buying the second half of the game, brilliant. It is almost like Disc 1 is more of a demo disc, but it is still packed with a lot of content. I beat both discs in about 24 hours of play, but even then there's still side content and post-game content that I did not get to. But I can say that I definitely feel like I got my money's worth for a variety of reasons. Firstly, the music is kickin', hands down. Really impressed with Axial Disc 2 as a stellar follow up to the original. The combat system is super fun once you start experimenting with different command setups and party combinations, and it feels rewarding without being overwhelming. The pixel art and music give it a ton of retro charm, and the story kept me just as interested as it did in first title. You can tell this developer is an incredible and amazing human being who put a lot of care into every part of the game. Definitely worth checking out if you like classic-style RPGs with a unique combat system.

[h1]Chip On My Shoulder[/h1] [h2]Story[/h2] The first part of the game takes place at the same time as the previous disc, but from Chip's perspective. This adds a lot of context for his strained relationship with his family, where he can never please his father Swed no matter how hard he tries or even when he actually brings good results. It also shows that while he was hostile towards Sai in the previous game, his true feelings are a mix of admiration and jealousy. In the second half of the game, we get to see how he and the main villain, Axis, have a lot in common. As confident as they act, their desire for purpose works against them and makes them confused as to what they should be doing with their life. Axis himself seems like a generic destroyer villain at first, but if you beat all the Eater bosses, you get to see certain events from his perspective, showing that he couldn't deal with his inner conflict and had to separate his own memories to cope with it. Sai also gets an extended character arc where he has to go into his dreams and reexamine his relationships with his loved ones, including [spoiler]his dad, the previous game's final boss[/spoiler].
