Bang Average Football – Play, Manage, Create

Fun, casual football game reminiscent of Sensible Soccer (which is a very good thing). Perfect on the Steam Deck too.

Got this in a bundle, and honestly was not expecting it to be this good. I love football games, and I honestly feel like this is one of the best that there are around if you can move away from the big EAFC, eFootball and so on. This game is easy to pick on, has a nice story mode with good writing, and has some replayability value, considering that you can also customize the database however you want (also with the steam workshop). Bang Average Football has its downsides too, though: the gameplay can get a bit repetitive, for some reasons passes do not lock on players for long enough to allow for the receiver to actually get the ball, and the story mode despite being nice can get boring, and it is only a story in the sense that there is a plot behind it, but there is no way to improve your players over the seasons apart from your own character (which will get OP probably too soon). Overall, though, I definetly recommend you to pick up this game if you are looking for something that can scratch the itch for a nice football game.

Great football game, worth every penny

Become player/manager of your local football team and carry them from the bottom tier to the Premier League. You quickly become a Messi regen through stat upgrades that you get from completing challenges like "Score 3 hat tricks" or "Score 10 goals from outside the box", etc. There's basic management built in like upgrading your stadium to maximise ticket sales, gaining sponsorships, and also taking control of transfers. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure you go into the settings and set the Pass Assist to Strong because on Weak every team plays around you like prime Barca and you will struggle to make a simple 10-yard pass. There are two other assists for shooting and crossing as well which felt fine to leave on the weak setting for me but you have that option if you're still struggling.
