Very good game, reminds me of Hollow Knight of course but with a smaller scope. The movement is very good, i just didn't like that there is a minimum horizontal distance that you will travel with every small jump, and that makes the jumps less precise IMO. The standout feature for me is the sequence-breaking: you can reach "blocked off" zones if you are good at platforming, and beat bosses not in the intended order. That gives you access to abilities in different order in every playthrough. Another positive is the map, good markers and navigation in general, plus the fact that the borders of the squares help you understand where you missed something (the upgrades are important, you need to actively search the zones). And lastly the music i remember being good, some boss tracks in particular are memorabile. Not in the same way HK/Silksong tracks are though, those are legendary. Let's hope the devs are working on Voidwrought 2!4 found this helpful

Honestly when i got to the area called 'the surface' (abt 2hrs in) i was pretty excited to play the game the artwork and the music are sublime and the bosses are great (eternal engine!!) but the backtrack and downtime of going to previous areas just so you can get the dash double jump heavy hit ect. is a real buzzkill. The enemies and world are not enjoyable enough to constantly go back to older areas to unlock the full moveset added on by unlocks behind boss fights. I would say the first five hours can be a slog to get thru and you will be constantly going back to older areas to unlock more abilities so mark ur map well the first time you notice somewhere you cant reach. The combat is fine but i feel this game is decently overrated only the boss fights have intensity to them the rest of the time im running past the enemies to get to where i died and keep exploring. Only buy if this is ur fav genre of games
