Lost at Birth

Unfortunately I just cant recommend this game. It starts quite well and is unique but honestly it goes downhill quick. There has been no updates in over a year and the game ends at a completely random point before a sex scene. The chapters make no sense and have no meaningful beginning or ending. They just end suddenly, even mid conversation. The game also presents choices that have no impact on the game at all other than 1 line or 2 of conversation (usually just MC thoughts) The women are quite interesting and good lucking with the exception of the wife. The wife is actually a horrible person who treats both MC and his daughter awfully. She's nice one second and then shouting and rude the next. The MC is a massive pushover and does everything for everyone else such as making food whilst also working overtime, while the wife sits there and complains about him not making food yet. Makes zero sense why he even puts up with it. There are a lot better games out there so don't waste money on this one.

Honestly I wanted to give this game a good review. I Liked the story and renders and was looking forward to the next update / season. However IMHO this is nothing more than an abandoned Steam project. When developers go radio silent (or have very sporadic updates/info) that's usually an indication that the game is DOA. Its been my experience that most developers (with abandoned projects) use Patreon for making money. They then release an EA game on Steam with promise of grandiose updates / future content usually to milk some extra money. And then nothing happens. Sadly as with many of these abandoned Steam projects, you get invested in the story and then...poof "that's all folks." Save your money (and time) on "completed games" or on others that actually get regular updates / feedback from the developer.

I hadn't planned to write a review for Lost at Birth, because it's so late in the process and there are plenty of reviews out there complaining about the game not being finished, or even abandoned. Geez, guys -- what did you think "Early Access" was about when you bought it. It seems to me that they make the "caveat emptor" quality crystal clear up front - no guarantees. So ... why am I writing? Negative reviews for technical reasons utterly fail to address the quality of the game. In this case, whether it ever gets finished aside, I have to give a slightly reluctant "thumbs down" based purely on the game itself. My main objection is that the MC is a creep! We all bring our own morality to games like this - a father creeping on his daughter is not generally acceptable, in American culture, anyway. But for the sake of an AVN, I'm sure many players are ready to overlook that. What bothers me is that most of the "choices" the player gets to make are strictly about what level of jackass the MC will be. How many women will he cheat on his wife with? And is the wife really bad enough that his cheating is justified? Not really - they both claim to still be in love and are wo…

I don't know if the dev is going to finish this AVN but I like the 10 chapters that have come out so far. Very likable characters.
