About Data Garden
A text-less comic-game hybrid about data, interaction and digital identity. In this click & click adventure you will have a single button to advance in the story: a virtual routine of a content consumer who lives their day through different platforms that harvest their data.
This data will end up reflected in a garden, the Data Garden. A growing ecosystem where everything endures. A reflection of your digital self that knows more about you than yourself.
This is the debut game of the narrative studio Shaman Garage. They use the constrains of only using one button as input and no text to bring us this experimental story driven puzzle game. Estimated play time 10-15 minutes.
Data Garden is a project that has been made possible thanks to the help of Sickhouse (https://www.sickhouse.nl/) (Enschede, The Netherlands). In 2023 the studio followed the Sick Prod trajectory mentored by Zuraida Buter (https://www.zo-ii.com/).

This is a very creative game with some unique and interesting visuals that comment on our digital age, and having only one button to play it with makes it super easy to play. While I loved the visuals, noises, and animations, I do wish that the game was a little bit longer, though I understand that the goal of this game didn't require it to be drawn out. Also wish the garden building part was a little more interactive too (very relaxing actually!), but other than that was a nice project!1 found this helpful
A small work executed to perfection. It knows what it is and doesn't need to be more. Concise and with a strong narrative. It's the kind of game that invites you to rethink how we make and what we expect from video games. Excellent1 found this helpful
