Voxile

Well, this is just another game that's going on the list of "Games That I Regret Buying and Can't Refund". It's interesting in theory, but the combat, which is the main staple of this game, does not MAKE ANY SENSE. All enemies, even on the easiest setting possible in the entire game, hit like a semi running into a glass house. Health regeneration is "supposed" to be faster on the easiest setting. You regenerate 1, yes ONE, HP every thirty seconds. Or sometimes you don't, apparently, because I actually left my computer for ten minutes, and my health hadn't gone up at all. Higher difficulties apparently make the regen-time even longer. And that wouldn't be even half as bad if it weren't for one extremely irritating thing: every attack enemies do to you sends you flying miles away. And I'm stuck with a wooden stick that can only reach arm's length. Which means if I'm fighting a ranged enemy, he's going to beat the ever-loving snot out of me before I even take a quarter of his health away. You can also block, but not ranged attacks. And blocking also knocks you backwards, too. Oh, and your wooden stick? Its durability decreases very fast. After fighting and managing to somehow kill 3 …

Wasn't expecting this much variety from a voxel game. the underlying framework they built this on is actually insane. you've got standard survival and coop that completely scratches that minecraft itch (been playing the survival mode with my bro), but then there are straight up detective maps, full rpg campaigns, and action modes. it’s kind of wild how much different stuff they packed into it and yet feeling cohesive, really solid!

This is the most beautiful Voxel game I've come across. Even better looking than Shadows of Doubt or Everwind. The architecture of the maps is amazing. That being said, the game is not finished yet. I think most people who see this beautiful voxel game are waiting until it leaves early access. I managed to snag Voxile for not much as part of a bundle deal. Leaving a preliminarily positive review (for concept and art execution) but will update once full release is out.

ALL the missions that ask for items. Are either no where to be found or the description is not clear at all. Like the boat quest asked for 4 walls and 4 floors . I made them and it doesnt register that they are made. I ended up with 6 quests open and not able to complete a single one. because the description is so damn vague. Games that just cause frustration are such a waste of time. REGRET PURCHASE

I've never seen voxel rendering done as well in this game! Truly beautiful approach to the art style. I found a lot of optionality for gameplay in this game between the story and survival mode. Also, the devs are consistently pushing new updates. The game has a strong foundation, so I'm excited to keep coming back to it while the content grows and the UX continues to improve. Would recommend if you want to experience what voxel gameplay can look like aside from minecraft.

a lot of voxel games give you a world but no direction. this one gives you the classic survival/coop sandbox plus a huge library of modes. the action maps are frantic, the rpg setups are surprisingly well made, and the underlying framework holds it all together very nicely.
